I bought my HP G72 a little less than one year ago, and I have to say, it rocks my socks off. It has 17" of pure HD. It does not matter if I am watching a TV show, a movie, writing reviews or doing my college homework. Not to mention the fact that I am legally blind without my glasses, so this screen and the sharpness of the HD has nearly eliminated my eye strain when I am using it for long periods of time. My best friend liked my laptop so much that she went out and got one! I love that I do not have to hold it less than a foot in front of my face like I did with my last laptop. It loads everything quickly, despite the fact that I have thousands upon thousands of pictures, videos, documents, presentations and so much more saved onto my hard drive. It runs like the first day I had it and I am so happy with it! I love having 3 USB ports; it comes in so handy sometimes. And depending on what kind of TV I hook it up to with the HDMI port, my G72 has a better screen! Overall, I would give it an A+++! Ease of Use Even though I do not use the "tour" of the computer, it was simple enough to understand and use, but not so simple that it bores me. Battery Life I use my laptop hours upon hours a day, so I always keep my charger handy. Support & Service Every time that I have had a question about my G72 and I have emailed about it, I have gotten very quick and precise support. Speed/Performance It still amazes me that almost a year later, I am still getting the same speed and performance that I did the first day that I had it. Design I love the design because even though I have long fingers, everything is within reach but not so much that my fingers cramp up like they did when I had my old Toshiba. Durability I cannot tell you how many times I have accidentally dropped my laptop and it is still as good as new!

I would never recommend this laptop. We purchased two and both of them are breaking down to overheating issues. The computer constantly shuts down. Touchpad has stopped working on one. Ease of Use The laptop utlizes a windows OS. Anyone that has previously used a computer with Windows will find this product easy to use. Battery Life Battery lasts approximately 3-4 hours. We have the brightness setting at about 50%. This helps to save the battery life. Like other HP laptops, the G72 has a battery life of approximately 100 charges (as told by a customer service representative). Support & Service I believe HP has very poor service. One battery lasted about 6 months. We were told that we must have used it wrong and there was nothing to do. On both, the laptop overheats. Support asked us if we used it on our laps....we don't and utilize cooling pads and fans. The machines still overheat. Aftering looking at reviews online we aren't the only ones experiencing this. Speed/Performance the G72 is extremely fast when combined with our broadband internet (~23 mps). Design The design is very masculine. Durability Due to overheating issues our G72s won't last very long. On multiple occassions it has shut itself down due to the high internal temperatures. The overheating is very detrimental to the durability of the machines.

My husband gave me this laptop 2 years ago for Christmas. I have never had HP laptops before and now I can say - this is the brand I will buy from now on. I love 17" screen. Of course if you are a business person it might be too large and heavy, but If you only going to use laptop at home - this is the size of screen I would recommend. My laptop works under Windows 7 (which I also was very skeptical about, but now i like it a lot). I do have 2 little concerns. I already had to replace my battery. It worked great at the beginning but as I was using it a lot - it started dying after 20 minutes of use. But after I replaced it - i have no problem. My other concern is it's cooler. It is placed on the very bottom ob laptop. So if you ever use your laptop in bed or on the carpet - buy yourself a cooling pad. Otherwise it overheats and shuts off. Other than that it is a great laptop. Ease of Use You just need basic computer knolledge Battery Life I had to replace my battery after 1 year of frequent use. Support & Service I have not contacted customer support yet, but assume it's good. Speed/Performance It is fast - love it! Design I very much like the design of my laptop Durability My kid dropped it few times, and spilled water few times - it is still working :)

Around Christmas time my old Compaq laptop went kaput so I was in the market for a new one. My mother surprised me with a new HP G72 laptop and I love it!! The 17" screen is bright and the definition is great! It has the 10-key pad to the right of the keyboard which I LOVE! You can access multiple screens with no glitches and it connects to WiFi with no problem at all. I have yet to have a problem after 3 months of constant use. The only real downer is that the battery life is minimal. It runs on the new Windows 7, is powerful and easy to setup and use right out of the box. I have already got my best friend to buy her one with the 15" screen and she loves it just as much! So I will tell you all the same as I told her, this is a great laptop and I would definitely give it 2 thumbs up!

The computer is rather large and does not fit in most computer bags. But the large screen allows me to see more and I need to see more because I rehab homes and rent to low income families. It only cost abotu 469 after the rebate. It doesn't run hot and it shuts down when not in use for a few minutes. It has the 10-key numerical pad that allows me to enter budgeting facts a lot easier. The computer is heavy and would not be a good buy for those who have back/shoulder problems if the computer needs to be carried many places. The large screen is great for watching video and movies. HP constantly updates the windows 7 and other programs that were essential to the performance of the computer. I like this computer.

*I purchased this HP G72 just a couple months ago, on a great sale and have found it to be worth every penny that I paid. I'm still learning what it all can do for me, and am finding more everyday. I had an older Dell model, with this HP I'm able to watch a movie, and to download DVD's that I was unable to do on my old computer. I love the 17 inch screen, even the weight is much lighter then my old 14 inch Dell. I'd recommend this computer to anyone wanting something to upgrade from an older laptop.*

My husband and I purchaced the HP G72 Notebook PC last Christmas when our Dell laptop died. While we have only had it a year, I feel as though that is ample time to give a sufficient review. Overall, I think this computer is amazing, and would get another one in a heartbeat. The "home" keyboard is laid out a little different (or maybe my Dell was??) so that took a little getting use to, but now it seems completely normal. An added feature on this laptop that was not on our previous Dell is the number keypad on the right hand side of the keyboard. A small feature perhaps, but something I missed on our Dell and am very glad to have now. The touchpad "mouse" is not as reliable as I would like. It often 'sticks' jerking the mouse back and forth and making it difficult to pinpoint it on certain areas. While this is annoying, with a little cleaning of the imiginary grime, the problem is quickly solved. Overall, an inexpensive workhorse that I would definitely recommend to others.

I had just started a new teaching job when our home was struck by lightening and damaged our desktop computer along with about ten other high cost items in our home including the a/c and heating unit.  I had to have my computer to get my school work ready but most all of my work was stored in my damaged computer.  To make a long story short, we had to go buy another computer while waiting to get my damaged computer repaired, if possible, so that I could at least restore some of my school work from it.  We decided to buy a laptop and went to the store to start looking.  We were very pleased to find the Hewlett Packard Notebook PC on sale and it included many of the programs that I had on my damaged computer.  It has a 17" widescreen, Intell Graphic Media Accelerator, Windows Vista Home Premium along with several other programs.  We were able to get the damaged computer repaired but the HP Notebook PC is my husband's favorite so he uses it while I am using the desktop.   I use the Notebook every chance I get but prefer to use the wireless mouse with it.
