Several years ago, my employer made the transition from bulky tube monitors to flat screen LCD monitors.  Needless to say, we were all excited about the space this would free up on our desks. Well, other than a little spots in the coloring in certain areas, this monitor is as good as new.  Let me tell you: that is really saying something!  I have probably had this monitor for four or five years now!  As if that is not testimony enough, think about it.  I work a minimum of 40 hours, and there have been several weeks where I put in 60 hours.  Over a four or five year period, that is a lot of time use! I changed desks a few times while I was in the office, I moved the monitor in my car when I began working from home, and I have moved three times since then!  And, I have to admit, I have not been as gentle with it as would be recommended. I cannot comment on price as this is a work provided monitor.  But, I cannot imagine a monitor performing any better under such durress!
