the HP EliteBook 6930P laptop is a very rugged laptop

4

In a review of the HP EliteBook 6930 I would have to start out by saying this is a very rugged unit.   I work as an IT engineer and use and work with users that use this model laptop on a daily basis.   When I say they are a reliable and rugged unit I mean just that...  I've seen this model of laptop dropped and thrown around and come back working like a charm.   This unit from a hardware point of view is very easy to work on and HP makes it simple for all users in the respect by listing step by step instructions on their website explaining how to replace each and every intricate working part.   So far the battery life, which is very important to power users along with every day users, seems to be holding out pretty well on all units I've worked with so far and that number is probably right around 100 units.   The major complaint I get on this unit is that it is easily scratched.  If HP would make this unit a little more rugged in regard to this aspect I believe they would definatly have a hit on their hands.   --Matt

I use the Elitebook for school purposes and it works great. I love the external battery and widescreen features. I go to a business school and use my laptop all the time. It has Windows 7 and works wonders. Mine has a fingerprint reader which is also cool. Like I said before, the Elitebook works for business and pleasure and I am very happy with it.

Great laptop

I  recently got a HP EliteBook 6930p laptop.  It is so great.  It has a built in web cam, a finger reader and so much more. I love that it has so many ports for USB crds and hooks up to my docking station. I have a little lift on it so it sits on an angle for easier reading.  The screen is wider than laptops I have had in the past and I really enjoy it. It has a light across the top of the monitor to make it easier to see at night.  I am not a computer geek so have been slow to know all the features of this computer, but it is definitely the best I have had. I would certainly reccomend this laptop to anyone. In addition to the curser pad, it has a 2nd round curserbutton on the actual keynoard, and the left and right buttons that as just below the space bar. (sorry unsure what those buttons are called. The sound quality out of the speakers is very good and videos are very clear when displayed on the screen. IT has headphone jacks and is Bluetooth compatible. This is a great Laptop.

Not a very good laptop

I am using this laptop from the last 7months.  This is a business series laptop and I am using this as my company laptop. Coming to the pros and cons, I am not very much impressed with the performance of this laptop. Good things about this laptop are its sleek, has radeon graphics option, light weight and god batter backup, external switch for light on keyboard. Coming to bad things about it are, it generates lot of heat, wireless network connection becomes inactive after 7-8hours of usage, gets bluescreen, crap power management (it doesn't hibernate/stand by at all, always ends up with bluescreen if I use these options.  I tried to reinstall and reset to factory settings, but still issue is same.)  surprise thing is If I close the laptop lid, once I open it, it will resume at all.. just all I could see is, lights on, but no display.  I thing it is the problem with my laptop or for everyone.  I checked with my collegues who are using the same systems, everyone's experience is same. I may not recommend this product to anyone.
