HP Desktop Review Summary

Hewlett Packard has aggressively moved into home market with products like the HP Pavilion tower desktop computer. Our community of knowledgeable reviewers is almost evenly split on the affordable 32 or 64-bit Intel or AMD based computer; while one reviewer lauded the unit saying: “No matter how I mess up using my computer, it always works…I just love this computer!” Hewlett Packard builds the HP Pavilion around the AMD Athlon or Intel Core 2 Duo processor and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Edition. And the HP Pavilion Desktop is equipped a large 500GB SATA hard drive with space for an additional drive, as well as an optional 7-n-1 media card reader. Our reviewers highly recommend this affordable sleekly styled mini-tower computer. Read what else our reviews have to say about the HP Pavilion Desktop, as well as the Dell Dimension E521. No matter how I mess  up using my computer, it always works.  Sometimes when I leave it on, the screen goes "crooked" and I think it is done for, and I turn it off and it comes back on just right! I recommend HP computers especiall for those of us that aren't really that savy about them. I just love... review »

I bought an HP a1730n just over a year ago.  It was great at first.  ONE day after the  one year warranty expired, it completely crashed.  The hard drive and motherboard had to be replaced.  HP pre-loads and locks down the operating system to prevent theft or something, so the recovery disks...

I used to buy compac computers but had to switch when hp bought them out, I am on my 3rd hp desk top, first off if you are on every day most of the day or leave it on over night, dont expect your computer to last more than 3 years, so figure for that when buying the warr. for it, the one I have now has been back to hp 3 times for repairs always the same problem, none of the ports on the front work, noisy also ie and outlook stopped working and after being lied to 3 times on sending a box to send it back I finally contacted someone from headquarters and finally they replaced the motherboard cpu... review »

To be honest, I am not a fan of HP at all, their customer service is very poor. Their computers are cheaply made, and they pretty much lock you out of the BIOS to enable features that advanced users would like to use. I've owned 3 HPs and they all ended up in the garbage after a year.

To be honest, I am not one to buy company built, or pre-built PC's, but DELL to me seems to be the best as far as price and performance.

I gave HP a 1 star because they suck bad. I am sorry people, but they do.
Cheap junk, cheap parts, all cheap...

Ok if you want a throw away PC.
Other than that, they're just an over...

I went from Dell to HP and I'm very disapointed with my computer. It like to shut down when it wants to and will get stuck and won't open any windows. HP can't seem to fix it and say that it's just a glicth in IE. Didn't have this problem with Dell.
