I use this printer in my office at work along with a few of my other collegues and overall I am very displeased.  The quality of the printing is just fine.  I would say average for most inkjet printers.  However, paper gets jammed constantly in the printer.  When it is humid especially, the printer feeder takes multipages at once, so you cannot simply press print and walk away.  You need to stand there and watch it print.  This is especially a problem when you are printing on "fast draft".  I also have found that paper gets stuck a lot during printing.  I have had to help coworkers unjam their printers in the past.  The problem often comes from small bits of paper getting stuck in the machine, because the printer "eats" the paper so badly that it wont come out.  I have also had a lot of problems printing on envelopes.  Every time I print addresses on envelopes every single envelope "jams" the printer (or so it thinks it's jammed) so i need to pay close attention.  So overall, don't buy this printer.  Go for another inexpensive option.

A couple years ago we decided to standardize our workforce's printers and we decided on the HP 6940.  You can still buy these printers today so we have been able to maintain this standard printer for quite sometime now. This printer makes very efficient use of ink and is very durable as we have replaced very few of these over the years. I have read reviews where folks had problems with paper jamming but I find the problem is usually with the cheap paper being used or the humidity of the room where the paper/printer is being stored. I have had very few support issues concerning paper jams and most are easily removable and reoccurring jams are not prevalent with this printer. The only Con's that I have seen when supporting these printers is that when I have moved some offices around and removed the USB from the back of the printer the port breaks or the cable pulls out the plastic USB port lining from the printer.  The other issue is that this printer was not really made for printing envelops. It does print on them just fine but I find that the amber resume light flashes and has to be pressed for each envelope during printing. Don't purchase this printer if you will be doing heavy envelope printing. I highly recommend this printer for home or office use!   Envelope & USB

When it comes to home printing, HP wins hands down.  I love this printer because it does exactly what I need it to do and does it fast and well.  I mostly need to print text documents but a few high quality pictures here and there never seem to be the slightest problem for this printer.  The only problem I have had with this printer is that part of the paper tray broke.  It is held in place by two little plastic rods about 3 mm in diameter.  Needless to say, they snapped in the first two months.  Probably my fault, but they seemed a bit flimsy to begin with. I can still set the piece where it belongs and it will stay if the printer isnt moved.  Aside from that and the obvious ridiculous prices for printer ink, I have found this printer to be the best I have owned.  The fact that the pint heads are on the ink cartridges themselves and get replaced every time you replace your ink makes this printer better over so many others out there.  (most notably, epson.)

I have found that all HP products that I have owned have lasted forever!  Great Quality and super affordable!!  I will buy nothing but HP when it comes to printers.  The ink is a little spendy, but its worth the stability!
