I can't say what first drew me to the show, but I think that a large part of it must have been Hugh Laurie. An exceptional actor, Laurie breathes life into a very complex and excruciatingly interesting character; one might not always like House, but one always finds oneself wanting to know more about him and to watch what new ways of doing things he'll find next. The development and evolution of House, as a character, is the main reason for watching the show, even if the new traumas and mysteries every week are nothing to sneeze at.
