HD Radio Background: HD radio is as unnecessary as it is cool. HD radio is supposed to have better sound quality relative to non-HD radios, though I can't quite pick up the difference. HD radio's key benefit is that it provides users with MORE access to their favorite local stations. "Huh?," you may say. design-conscious, quality conscious
The Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio HD has a nice, compact, modern look. It produces quality sound with excellent bass response for a radio with such a small footprint. It should, however, include a built-in CD player considering the $300 price tag. The radio does include a port to plug in a CD player or MP3 player. With the smaller FM antenna supplied, I was unable to pick up many of the locally broadcast HD signals even though I live at a relatively high elevation just nine miles from downtown Pittsburgh.
