Guru.com is an online job provider for freelancers who want to work from home. Although they have jobs for different positions such as website designers, I always look for freelance writing jobs. Years ago, I signed up for the basic service where I would pay Guru a percentage of my earnings. There are services on Guru where you can pay fees, and you have more access to jobs and other perks basic members like me don't get. I have heard mixed reviews about this. This review is just of Guru's basic membership.
If I had written this review a few years ago, I would have been highly dissatisfied with Guru. There was a project I did a little work on, but I never heard from the client again and got no payment. However, almost two years ago, I got a great job writing literary guides about books. This was so ideal for me. As a book reviewer and bookworm, getting paid to write about books especially books I adored was a dream. Guru's payment system was easy, and I never had a problem with direct deposit. Guru also sends out emails about jobs that are open. Even though it took a few years, Guru finally paid off.
