Guitar Hero - World Tour Review Summary

Guitar Hero World Tour is the fourth edition from the popular video game series Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero 4, as the game is also known as, is the first of the four Guitar Hero games to feature drum and microphone controllers for percussion and vocal accompaniments, along with the traditional guitar-shaped controller. It's the "best version of Guitar Hero by far!" exclaims one enthusiast reviewer. The game features 80 songs, which is twice as many as any other version, and includes music from many different genres, not just classic rock as with other versions. "There's something for everyone," agrees the community. By downloading additional tunes from the Internet, you can add even more music to your song list. Players can unlock other accessories (like new guitars) in career mode. "Guitar Hero 4 does not disappoint!"

I got this game for my husband's birthday and was very apprehensive about playing 'guitar'. After going through the tutorial and the beginner program, where you just strum the guitar, I was thrown into the next level by my husband who was confident in my abilities. Amazingly, I surprised myself by getting... review »

Guitar Hero 4 World Tour

The set list is awesome. The difficulty seems easier than GH3. I like the sustain notes and playing another note during the sustain.

Problems -
Drum is not sensitive enough - Activision has distributed a calibrator for this.

Connection issues - The new guitar often loses connction...

I have recently become addicted to the Guitar Hero series.  I love music, so naturally I would love this game.  The thing that I like most about these games is that there are many levels of difficulty, so the games can be played by anyone in the family.  Guitar Hero World Tour is by far my favorite out of all of them, and it just came out a few days ago.

Guitar Hero World Tour has over 80 songs to choose from, which is twice as many than any other version.  You can also download additional songs with the 360, Wii and PS3 versions, which will give you even more options.  Even if you are not...

Guitar Hero World tour is a pretty solid game, it has a pretty large number of songs and a few that really stand out to me.

The graphics have really improved as well since the third in the series, as well as the rockstar creator features. There is a lot of new stuff, such as the song creator, the new gigs layout, the ability to customize your instruments, upon others.

However, this game has a lot of points where it comes short, notably the song creator, song choices, and notecharts.

First off; the song creator is an absolute nightmare to use, if you're planning on making a song then you'd better...

Ok, so with all the hype of th GH games, I was really looking forward to finally not fighting over the guitar. However, I guess you need to make sure that someone in your "band" wants to drum or sing. If you have ANY voice at all, DO NOT start singing on easy. You will fail. I can't even try to sing as bad as they want you to for easy. If you can hold a half way decent tune, I suggest starting on Med/Hard for singing only.  The drums seem pretty easy at first, but up the level and I end up fumbling with the sticks....practice does make perfect. If you are jumping from GH3 to World Tour, expect...

My review will start out scaring people - but please continue and theres a light at the end of the tunnel... I got the complete band set for the Wii.

I've only tried guitar hero and rock band very briefly on a PS2, but to be honest, I was so terrible that I didn't enjoy it at all. Some how I got the idea that I was ready to give it another try,but I'm about the least coordinated person on the planet. I have a wii, so this was the obvious choice. Initially I had a lot of trouble matching colors to buttons etc, I was constantly hitting the wrong button and getting so stressed out it made me even worse....

Alright can't really get into to much detail for this game because well there isnt much to it other then it rocks you mother flipping socks off. The graphics could on times more than likely be better unless your not caring about the graphics which I would really hope your not because this game was made for you to rock out! Love all the music on there and the fact that with the new guitar hero Metallica you can use a "double bass" pedal and tear it apart kind of like a real drum set. The instruments for it are not bad at all. The guitar could be made a bit better because the buttons tend to not...

Fun, I did not buy the whole pack though I just bouth the game becuase I had heard that the drums that came with it were alreaddy falling apart on some people. So i just hoped on ebay and bought some drums save about a hundred $'s that way because I already had the mic, from my playstasion and the guitar. It is so fun. I could play on hard on most of the song so some were not as chalenging as the previous games. But some were very hard on medium as well those were the ones I couldn't beat on hard. I have alreaddy finished it on single mode. My drums came in the mail today so I will be starting... review »

If you own a PS3 or any other console that is able to play Guitar Hero World Tour, I highly recommend buying it! It's very addicting and really fun! If you have people over, it's great for entertaining. It gets people dancing and singing. Also, it has a big variety of well-known music. My mom recently had a party while I was out, and when I came home, everyone was having so much fun with it! The only thing that isn't very good is that if you play for a while, you might see that your TV looks like it's moving. And you have to watch how much you play or else your eyes will be in a lot of pain! However,...

Dear fellow Guitar Hero fans...

Guitar Hero 4: World Tour ROCKS even harder than previous versions. The new music list is pretty awesome and includes songs by artists like: Blondie, 311, Billie Idol, Lyndard Skynard, Journey, Jane's Addiction, Foo Fighters, Interpol, Muse and much more.

The new guitar hero was just released yesterday (October 26.) I plan to do some further "testing" and return with more details. So far, I'm giving this sweet game an enthusiastic 4 stars.

I just recently bought Guitar Hero for my boyfriend and even I fell in love with it as soon as I figured out how to play. I think the hardest thing was figuring out where the keys where. This is the first Guitar Hero game we've had and I would definitely purchase the ones that came before it. Even though there is a huge song list, I wish that the songs were more up to date with stuff they play on the radio.

I love this! We have PS3 so we had never played Rockband. We have a regular Partridge family band, as the whole family plays it together. The only thing I don't like is when you go to the playstaion store to buy more tracks, the songs are all people that we don't care about. The whole Metallica album?? Oasis?? Why not some bands people care about?

Guitar Hero is one of the best games i have ever played. It has a lot of song selection and it lets the whole family play at one time(unless you have more than 4 people in your famliy). The graphics are the best yet i can't wait for any other guitar hero game to come out. overall i would advise anyone to buy this game. it is worth th money/.

Honestly I really didn't think I would like the game. My friend brought it over to my house so I could play it. It took me a little while to get the hang of it but after a few hours of playing it was great. If you to rock out when just listening to a song wait until you play guitar hero its even better cause you really are rocking out.

very very good game. fun and entertaining but the career mode just isn't long enough. I think they would have made the game so much better by expanding the game with more songs and more career gigs. but all in all its a very fun game to play and there are some really good songs on it
