Grreat Choice Healthy Treats Biscuits with Vegetables —

All good dogs should get great treats and praise that rewards them for appropriate behavior. They should also get healthy snacks that make them want to sit up and repeat that excellent behavior.  My Labradors recently finished a box of Grreat Choice Healthy Treats Biscuits with Vegetables from Petsmart.  They were most pleased with the snack and they were quick to sit up and ask for more soon after they gulped down their treat.

Healthy Treats snacks are for dogs and I would recommend this more for larger dogs; either that or break the heart in half. These cookies are heart-shaped and fairly large - approximately 2 ½ inches across.  As it was we still broke them in half. The vegetable ingredients include tomato, carrots, peas, broccoli, and spinach.  These are made with wheat flour and there's no corn to be found.  The vegetables are all dehydrated so you don't need to worry about spoilage or needing refrigeration.

They're low in fat, actually these are 95% fat free and rely upon canola oil in the baking process.  These are packaged in an 18-ounce box although the contents are not resealable - we have a doggy cookie jar dedicated to this snack.

If you're not satisfied with this product, return the unused portion to the place of purchase for a refund.

When I recently expressed some concerns with my vet about my female lab always searching for food when my back was turned (something about her medication makes her feel hungry) the vet recommended these as well as just feeding her fresh or dehydrated vegetables for snacks.  The vet especially likes vegetables high in antioxidants such as broccoli (our blond lab's vet is an oncologist). The vegetables will help her feel full without adding unnecessary calories or fat. Both dogs enjoy an occasional piece of broccoli or carrot and both frequently snag cherry tomatoes off the plants if they are reachable. This seemed like an easy selection for my treat-spoiled hounds.  These were so large that I found myself snapping the heart in half so the dogs shared a biscuit rather than eating the whole thing.

No, they really don't get lots of treats through the day, just sounds like it. They get snacks three times: carrying in the newspaper, running through a daily training regime, and a "bribe" for when we leave the house.  That's it but it exposes them to a lot of different snacks and Grreat Choice Healthy Treats Biscuits with Vegetables falls into the category of "we won't reject them if you bring them home again." Yes, there's a lot to select from on the market these days but I know that if pickings are slim I can always head over to Petsmart to pick up a box of Grreat Choice Healthy Treats.

What handsome dogs! (And I thought mine were big.) We're big on lowfat these days and are trying to trim down one doggy with hip and leg problems. These sound like a must since 1) your dogs like them and 2) there's no corn. Thanks for the info.
