Just tried to upgrade from AVG 7.5 to 8.0...big mistake! Firewall will not load properly after numerous attempts. All I get is a never ending error message while the tormenting flames of computer hell scorch my tortured soul as legions of nightmarish viral imps mock and taunt me for my impetuous foray into cyber territories unkown. Oh that I would have heeded the clarion calls from those who are forever ensconced in the fiery depths of cyber hell....delete!!! delete!!! before it is too late!

AVG free enables me to do all that, without all the confusing extras that cause your computer to suddenly do something unexpected. review »AVG Anti-Virus 7.5 discovered viruses that my $2100+ Trend Micro Anti-Virus didn't discover. I confirmed the viruses with other packages, but our expensive Trend Micro SMB AV didn't find.
You can even use the AVG AV Free Edition but it is less configurable so you do get the extras by paying for the commerical versions.
Try it against the other AV Companies before you pay to much for "assumed" protection.
