About Greenies Pantry Treat-Pak, Petite, 50 Bones

I tried to do something good for my little Jack Russell Terrier. I paid 30 bucks for bones for him! And what did he do? Turned his nose up and walked away. I guess he's not conveniently green!

These come in several sizes for dogs of all sizes. Mine are for dogs 15-25 pounds and Mickey is more or less 15 pounds. These bones are made to be nutritious with loads of vitamins as well as chlorophyll to freshen dogs' breath. They are green and they caution that the dog's stool with also be green. Oh lovely. The bones smell somewhat strange. When I was a kid, I ate dog bones. Well, I nibbled on them every now and then. I don't know why. Maybe a shrink can tell me. At any rate, I had no desire to nibble these. The look and smell was not appealing to me.

But I didn't matter, Mickey did. I offered him a bone and he was all tag wagging and happy but then he looked it and came close and smelled it. He sniffed the bone for a minute then walked away. What? You do NOT walk away from expensive, good for you and your breath bones in my house.

OK, he won. He totally refused to even try them. The good news is my cat Princess kind of likes them and has eaten a couple of them. The bad news is she throws up every time about 10 minutes later. $30.00 down the drain.

These bones are nutritious and are supposed to keep dogs' breath smelling fresh. They are made with good ingredients and vitamin fortified. I don't know if every animal will react as mine did but I so suggest that you try one before sinking the cash into a box of these.

My Viewpoint

Every dog is different and they all have different likes and dislikes but I never saw Mickey turn down a treat before. He wasn't just uninterested; he was downright appalled that I offered him such drivel! However, these have tons of vitamins and chlorophyll for dogs' breath and should be tasty. I don't know why my dog hated them but he did so I have to rate as he would. I will rate these 2 stars. I think they are good bones. However, if my dog won't eat them, I can't rate them any higher.

Unfortunately my dog loves these expensive treats. And he's a big dog so I have to get him the big treats. He doesn't get these very often.
