My husband and i have a mastercard green dot card. It is a pretty nifty little card. You don't have to worry about over the limit charges or outrageous finance charges. The only kickback on this card is you have to pay almost $5.oo everytime that you add more money to it, whether it is $500 or $50.00. I think that once you buy the card you should not have to pay everytime you need to add money on it. I also think it's rediculous that you get charged if you call by phone to get your updated account info. [it cost 75 cents}.

I agree completely with your comment. I'm a college student and I have a regular account, but I wanted something I could use on campus and not worry if it got stolen. When I first got it I called to activate it, I spent an hour on the phone with some person over seas who barely spoke english. I should have cancelled it right there. The woman talked me into getting the platinum addition which was another $18. I finally got it one month later. Come to find out there are all of these hidden fees and before I knew it my $500 was gone. The money on the card was my lunch and dinner $ for that month, I had to barrow $ from my room-mate just so I could eat. They charged me everytime I used it. I called up and yeld at the director. What a joke! The company itself steels your cash! It says you only have to pay for it once what a sham. They charge you to use your own fricken cash. Don't get it!!!!!!!!!!

I have bought my Greendot card almost a month ago, I have yet to recieve it. I try to call to check on the it's status. All I get in return is that account is still in review. How can something that is PrePaid be in review to activate it. It has over 100.00 in starting funds on it. I almost think this is a scam. How long did you have to wait to get your card ????
