A Good As Tyson For Half The Price
A lot of people have the misconception that store brand items are not going to taste the same (or even close) to name brand items. The Great Value line is the in-house brand from Wal Mart; almost everything that they sell under the Great Value brand is the same (if not better) than comparable name brand items and that includes their frozen foods like the popcorn chicken. Not all of the locations sell this; even if they have a frozen food section there's no guarantee that they will have this. I have to go to one of the larger locations to get it because the two stores closest to me do not carry it. The 25.5 ounce bags contain breaded chicken pieces; they are fully cooked so all you have to do is heat them up. If you microwave them they tend to get a little rubbery but it is the quickest way to heat them up. If you want to fry them you can but if you are watching your fat intake you are going to have to take that into consideration. A suggested serving is nine pieces; that contains 170 calories, 7 grams of fat, 540 milligrams of sodium, 13 grams of carbohydrates and 13 grams of protein. Nine pieces might sound like a lot but the pieces are not the size of a chicken nugget so it is pretty easy to exceed the suggested serving size. I have never had any bones or pieces of bones in the pieces of popcorn chicken but I would be a little leery serving these to younger kids that could bite into one and end up swallowing a piece of a bone.
