We were willing to give these Great Value dishwasher powder pacs a try, but we have been disappointed in the results. They often leave some food and residue on dishes that other brands of the same product are able to get off. They also seem to leave streaks on glasses. In addition, the powder occasionally does not dissolve in the water very well. So in addition to being left with dirty dishes, we are also left with soap residue on the dishes and a soapy taste in our food. We have used off-brand gel dishwasher soap without any problem, but we will not be using these powder pacs again. Even though they are cheaper than the name brand equivalent alternatives currently available on the market, the name brand gets the dishes much cleaner and sanitizes them much better. When we use this type of dishwasher soap, we will be using the name brand instead of this Great Value off-brand version.

I grabbed these by mistake when the ones I wanted were right next to it, and I decided just to use them because I did not want to go back to the store to exchange them. I did my dishes and loaded up the dishwasher as I would normally do and put one of these in the tray that the detergent goes into and shut it and turned it on. After the wash cycle was done upon unloading my dishes and looking at them, I could tell that they had not gotten clean like I had wanted them to be. This left my dishes covered in spots that were very hard to get off after when I rewashed them. The leftover food particles that usually were always gone had settled all over my dishes and they all felt so greasy that not a single one was clean enough to be able to be used, they all had to be rewashed multiple times with this dish washing detergent before I was able to use them. I had to use three packs of this just to get my dishes clean each time I ran it, I used them till they ran out but I will never buy them again.

I don't really have a whole lot of negative things to say about the Great Value brand of Dishwasher Powder Pacs, but I would not rave about them either! I received a trial pack of the Cascade brand of dishwasher packs and was completely blown away at the convenience of the packs and also how effective they were at cleaning my dishes (even dirty pans!). I was even more impressed with how well they cleaned my clear glasses! However, I was turned off by the price and went back to my normal dish-washing soap. Then I came across the Great Value brand of dishwasher packs for a more reasonable price and was excited to try them! Yes, these packs are just as convenient as the name brand dishwasher packs; however, I didn't feel that it did as great of a job at cleaning. My dishes did not come out entirely clean - except for the ones that weren't too dirty when they went into the dishwasher. I was also disappointed that my clear drinking glasses weren't quite as clear and shiny in comparison to the Cascade packs. In my opinion, it didn't do any better of a job than my normal dish-washing soap and even though it was a generic brand, I still paid more for the convenience of the "packs" and I didn't feel it was quite worth the difference in price just for the convenience. Needless to say, I have not purchased these again. If I ever decide to "splurge" for convenience, I will most definitely use the Cascade brand of packs.
