Great Smoky Mountains National Park  — 

the Smoky mountains are such a serene and peaceful place.  If you like real solitude and beauty check out at the beginning of the Smokies around The Ocoee River (amazing white water river).  Only local type restaurants and beautiful scenery.  Then, if you want you can continue to Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge (dont forget to visit Cade's Cove) and those two towns are way more tourist-oriented.
