* Clear reddish-amber color; thick tan head
* Mildly sweet toasty malt aroma
* Rich biscuity malt flavor with toasty notes
* Medium bodied with palate-coating mouthfeel
* Long malty finish sits a bit heavy on the tongue. Balance definitely favors the malt profile
Synhopsis:
Among the many great beers produced by Great Lakes Brewing, I find Eliot Ness Amber one of their more mediocre brews. This is actually a back-handed compliment, since Eliot Ness Amber is one of their more popular offerings. I just don't find it that interesting -it has depth, but lacks the complexity that I look for in a beer.
