We were very satisfied during our stay at the Grand Hotel Palazzo, Rome, Italy. When driving up in our taxi, we were very impressed with the setting, beautiful gardens, and location, near enough to everything, but yet, not centered in the very busy areas of Rome. It was a very short walk to the subway... read full review »

The Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna is a picturesque property with a lot of history in the building. The front desk staff are helpful and professional. The rooms are comfortable but the walls are thin and noise from the hallway was audible at times. It's in a bit of an out of the way location but is... read full review »

The Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna was an amazing view when we drove up. The setting is just what you would hope for when booking a hotel in another country. The grounds were very well cared for as was the interiors. The reception area was very clean and classicaly decorated. While checking into our room, we found out that our room was not what we had hoped that it would be. We were on our honeymoon and we ended up with a two single room. Although this was not what we had hoped for, we enjoyed our stay. The room was small but well layed out. The room did have an attached bathroom, which is... read full review »

Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna is a beautiful facility located in a large, lush park -- very unusual in the large, crowded city of Rome. The Metro is just a couple of blocks away, and once you learn the train routes, travel to and from the hotel is relatively easy. Transportation to and from the airport, however, is expensive by taxi ($55 Euros each way, but dragging luggage through the main Metro station is too difficult!) The room (twin) was large by European standards, but the shower curtain needed weights to keep water from flooding the tile floor! The bar is small (three tables) but most of... read full review »

The Grand Palazzo Carpegna Hotel in Rome, Italy is a great place to stay. The staff is very friendly. Staff also spoke english very well. The location of the hotel is just a block away from a city metro station, although it is still isolated to maintain serenity from the city. Transportation is an important factor in Rome and being close to the metro was a great tool to our stay in Rome. There is also a large park adjacent to the hotel. The hotel features a full dining facility, courtyard with music, and a bar for cocktails. I recommend this hotel to those who want a quaint place to rest... read full review »

Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna was within walking distance from the metro stop (a must if you're traveling without a car in Rome). We loved the contemporary styling and comfort of the bedroom and bath as well. It took us a minute to figure out that the bathroom was separated from the room by a sliding door, but all was well after that. There was adequate space for our luggage and a safe in the room for our valuables. The only drawback we had was that each morning, when we wanted to use the elevator, we found it was locked and being used solely for the maintenance staff. The hotel had a fancy... read full review »

It is a structure with charachter nestled in a quiet surroundings with plenty of trees and green spaces across from the hotel. It is impeccably maintained; rooms have all the necessary modern amenities including quality soap dispensers and very clean with plenty of towels. It is conveniently located to tourist attractions. A bus ride to the Vatican is approx. 15 min. Most places can easily be reached by metro or by bus; taxi service is also availble. You can find banks, supermarket, restaurants, etc. within walking distance from the hotel but for a truly dining restaurants, I would suggest... read full review »

This was truly a grand hotel--a grand place to stay! Check-in was easy, and we were delighted when we saw our room. It was just perfect--clean, modern, simple, comfortable--and a very nice private bath. The breakfast at the hotel was served in a lovely room, and the food was delicious, hearty enough to satisfy an American appetite for this first meal of the day. The hotel staff was very nice and the desk people spoke good English. The hotel is convenient to the Cornelia Metro station, and there are some restaurants close by. The Vatican is about a thirty minute walk, if you want to go on foot.... read full review »

The Grand Palazzo Carpegna was a beautiful and accomodating hotel. The location was a ways away from many of the sights of Rome, however, there was a metro stop down the block making it easy to get to any destination. It was easy to commute to the hotel from the airport by taking the train to the center of Rome and then taking the metro for only 12 euro. I felt very safe both in the hotel and the neighborhood, this was a primary concern as I was a female traveling alone. The hotel overlooks a very peaceful and relaxing park. The hotel staff were helpful and many spoke english. My only complaint... read full review »

Grand Plazzo Carpegna is a place I highly recommend. The accomadations, staff, and location are excellent. We took a taxi to it from the airport --- about 25 minutes away -- cost $45. Once there, getting around is easy. It's just a short walk to the subway which is very efficent and cheap. Every part of the city is in easy reach using them. I also highly recommend those dobble decker bus tours. You can get on and off as you like and they take you all over the city. Have a great trip!

Recreational Attactions: Short Walk, The Vactican is only a few miles away. Very easy to reach by foot or subway....

Hoel Palazzo Carpegna was a hotel that was a part of the Country of Italy. It was formelly a palace or large home for wealthy Italians. The proximity to the metro was very good compared to other hotels. Thje cost was alittle high but worth it when you see the cost of taxi's. The staff very professional and spoke good english. All food restaurants and other establishments in walking distance.

Dining: Short Walk, If you like street side small eating establishments there are at least two within walking distance not fancy but part of the area food supply.

Grand Palazzo Carpegna is not located near the Vatican at all. In fact it is a few Metro stops away from it. Also, the rooms on the 4th level (attic) have no windows and have tiled hallways which echo every noice into the rooms. The twin bed felt like it was made of cardboard. It was quite a hike to the lobby too. It felt an extra guest room one might have in the attic of a house that is never used except when there is no other room. The staff was very nice and helpful though.

Recreational Attactions: Not Applicable, Everything is far away.

The Grand Hotel Palazzo Carpegna was a beautiful hotel built around an old church. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were a little on the small side, but for the amount of time we actually spent in the room it was manageable. The hotel was also a short walk to the metro, which took you to all of the major sites in Rome.

Dining: Short Walk, There is a bakery across the street from the McDonalds up the street from the hotel that has the best cookies and pastries!

I was pretty much satisfied with my stay. My only complaint was the location. It was not ideally located in the center of the tourist sites. It was a pain to get to from the metro everyday. The rooms were large enough considering it was in Europe. I wasn't expecting anything like the spacious rooms we have here in the U.S. It was clean, the air conditioning works well, breakfast was good, and the staff were helpful.
