Gran Torino —

Clint Eastwood's performance in Gran Torino left me stupefied, energized, and bawling.  His performance riled my testorone and humbled me emotionally.  The lead characters inspire courage, value, and determination.

You see "Dirty Harry" changing an entire community with his heart and his gun in this one.

Gran Torino is the type of movie I love; where you can't guess the ending.  It's far from cookie cutter.  I can't set up the surprise without giving it away, but it's both surprising and powerfully moving.

Gran Torino is a must see for the drama, action, suspense, even chick flick lovers.  Yes, chick flick fans will find comfort in the chivalry Eastwood returns to the silver screen.

i totally recommend it. even if you have to wait until it's out on video, it's a must see.

I've heard so many good things about this movie. Still haven't seen it yet - maybe soon!

It's a great movie with an amazing message. I agree with you about going downtown USA. The sad fact is with or without the movie, going into a metropolitan area can be very scary and dangerous. To me, the movie showed a way to change things that maybe hasn't been tried as often as throwing money at the problems or ignoring them.

I hope you get to see the movie. Sounds like you might prefer to rent it. Some libraries even allow you to check out movies for free. That's an option. That way you can watch in the comfort of you own home and reflect as you want to or if it gets a bit overwhelming, you can pause it, walk away, and come back.

Some movies are like that. I couldn't make it all the way through PS I Love You without pausing it. Part of that was due to the kids though.

People keep saying this was good but I worry it would make me even more scared to go downtown. But I'll have to see it someday - too many good reviews!
