The reviewers are right when they say this is 'prime vintage Eastwood'. I was raised on Clint Eastwood films, so I might be a tad biased here. However, this IS one of Clint Eastwoods best performances. He's a hard set man, watching his life slowly change with growing older, and watching his neighborhood drastically change over the years. This film exhibits extreme racism, but it is also an inspiring turn as you watch two very unlikely individuals become the greatest of friends. I highly suggest this film; but beware: it is very depressing, very dark, and very raw. It does have its lighter moments, but in all it's very very intense.
