Gran Torino Review

*NO SPOILERS* 

 Gran Torino is written and directed by Clint Eastwood.  Eastwood has come out of retirement for one final round of acting and it proves to be a smart move.  This film not only shows how brilliant Eastwood is as a writer and director, but that he still has the ability to give an amazing performance. 

The movie is getting a great buzz in Hollywood, but at the same time, people aren't happy about the all the racial slurs it contains.  Some people believe this to be the reason why the movie was not given any Oscar nominations.  This is a real shame because this film is very moving and actually is about getting past your prejudices. 

Without a doubt, Gran Torino is one of the best movies of the year.  Don't miss out on this one because it's worth buying when it comes out on DVD.  This movie can hold it's own with 'The Dark Knight' and 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
