When we were about to have our second child in under 2 years, it became obvious that we needed to invest in another monitor.  But I didn't want to have to have two monitors.  Last year, there were only two dual ones on the market and this one definitely had the advantages.  The fact that you can turn it to only one room or the other and adjust between the lengths of time in each room was a big win.  The different colored lights for each child was also really helpful for moms (and dads) trying to decipher cries in the middle of the night.

One thing I didn't like was that there was no way to mute it but still have it on.  That would be VERY helpful for those evenings when we don't want to listen to tantrums but want to keep an eye on things.  As it is, you either have to turn it off of listen to the screaming.  Another thing is that when off their bases, they don't seem to hold a very long charge.  No matter how long we leave it charging, it won't make it even 1/2 way through the night without the battery going dead if not on the docking station.  Also, for some reason, the one in our daughter's room often seems to be out of range -- so you have to turn it, hold it in the air, or whatever until you re-establish the connection.  A little nerve-racking in the middle of the night when the beeping wakes you from a sound sleep.

I agree completely with this review. The monitor regularly goes out of range in our house and the beeping is very annoying when it wakes you. We also found the issue of not being able to mute annoying because one person should be able to rest and be able to monitor the second child while the other deals with the fussy child. We kept it a couple weeks but decided we'd rather have two montiors that work as we need than have this system with these fatal flaws.
