Graco TurboBooster Review Summary

Available in a “wide variety of colors and patterns,” the Graco TurboBooster is “very affordable for the average family.” With safety and value in mind, owners of the TurboBooster car seat enjoy that it grows with the child from a high-back booster seat and “converts easily to a backless booster.” With no five-point harness, the TurboBooster is designed for older children it may “not be so good for a child that is smaller in stature.” Reviewers consider the TurboBooster to be “easy to assemble,“ and “light weight” making it easy to move from car-to-car. Children using the TurboBooster love the “big kid” look, the comfort and the ease of getting in and out of the seat. The Graco booster seat is also equipped with dual cup holders that easily slide in and out but don’t seem to hold regular cups very well. As one of the more “reasonably priced seats” the Graco TurboBooster is a booster seat that will last a family for quite a while. Want to compare the TurboBooster to other booster seats? When my youngest daughter was 4.5 years old, she kept asking when she could get out of her carseat (5 pt harness). She is very petite and could have fit in her regular carseat for another year or so. But she was sad that all of her friends, including her twin, had been in boosters for a while and… read full review »

After receiving a very important comment after posting this review, I felt I must edit this endorsement. I am no longer comfortable having a child, certainly not one of 40 lb weight or a certain age, using this car seat. A five-point harness is imperative. — Please see this video and… read full review »

I love the Graco booster seats, my daughter had a convertible seat that could be used with the 5-point harness and a seatbelt also. As soon as she outgrew the 5-point harness I switched to a booster seat. Mainly because I didn't like how high up the convertible seat put her, the booster puts her much more level with the seat of the car, and it's more convenient for her to reach her toys, drinks, whatever. Graco is a great brand with great reviews, and I'm so glad I got this! I was actually a little concerned because I thought a good carseat had to cost a lot of money but this one was very… read full review »

This car seat is great.  It fits well in my car, and the kids love it.  They really feel like big kids being able to use the seat belt.  It is easy to remove the seat covers to wash. The "wings" at teh top of the seat are great for catching the head of sleeping children, thus preventing the dreaded head bob. And if your seats recline, this car seat can actually recline some to fit the angle of the seat.  Great for sleepy kids on long trips.  My only complaint with this seat is the design of the cupholders.  If there is stuff in the cupholders when… read full review »

This was a great seat for a three year old. He can get in and out easily. It washes with warm water and soap. Great product! The product was one of the most reasonably priced seats. I would highly recommend it for a child that is three years old or older. It may not be so good for a child that is smaller in stature. The arms rests move up and down so it makes it really easy to have a child get himself in the seat. You have to remember to secure your seatbelt so that the child cannot get around the buckle. If you have a vehicle that doesn't have the seatbelts that lock, you will have to use a… read full review »

I totally love this car seat ... My son used it and it was very good ... I thought the 2 cup holders that went in and out were a great addition to this car seat and made more enjoyable to use. No matter where I had to position the car seat 1 of the cup holders if not both were able to be used. Also being able to raise and lower the arms made it more adjustable to the size of my child and let the car seat work as they got bigger. The adjustable headrest also made i much more comfortable for my son to use. It also comes in a great many different patterns so i feel there is one for everyone. I… read full review »

I love this car seat and it is really easy to put in the car. The kids also love the cupholders. They think it is really cool that they have thier own. I would definately recomend this to anyone. I love to shop for values, and this car seat was very inexpensive. This summer we went on a long trip to Colorado, and we drove there which meant the kids had to sleep in the car and she had no problems. She was never uncomfortable and never complained, except for the usual stuff kids complain about. Like the constant I am hungry or the frequent stop to go potty. I would absolutely buy another one of… read full review »

I found this car seat very easy to use. I loved the way it is easy to remove the seat covers for washing. This is great if you like to keep your carseats clean like I do. Also, loved that I could use the back piece or remove it and just use the booster seat. My son loved the cup holders, but I did find that they were difficult to keep cups from spilling over, deeper ones would be wonderful. My son puts his toys in them though so they do get use. The one thing I didn't particularly like was that I found it hard putting the back piece back on after I removed it. Would love to see it attachable… read full review »

We purchased this for our "surprise" child. He was very tall at an early age and seats are very expensive. While looking to replace the old car seat and wanted to only have to buy one more seat as there weren't going to be anymore. My husband and I were at the Chicago Auto Show and saw a demo on car seats and this car seat was recommended by the police officers there. We came back downstate and were able to find it easily. Since purchasing ours, the price has dropped quite a bit. But, it is light and can be easily moved form one to another without a hassle.… read full review »

I would recommend this car seat to anyone with a toddler looking to transition to a booster.  My son loves this car seat.  The only problem we have found is that the cup holders do not hold his cups well.  I guess they were designed for a different type of cup than what we use.  The fact that the seat transitions to just the bottom booster makes this a great buy.  It's 2 in 1 for the price of 1.  The cover comes off for easy cleaning in the wash and also you can buy different colors if you are trendy.  We love… read full review »

These are great boosters, my girls can strap themselves in easily, they are easy to wash because they come apart easily and they come in a wide variety of colors and patterns.  I have been in an accident with my daughter in one of these and it really worked to my expectations.  We have the one with the back that detattaches and it really helps hold the seatbelt into place.  They are very affordable for the average family.  They are durable and easy to care… read full review »

Like the seat but I am constantly having to adjust the seat-belt guider, it slides around too much.  It would be nice if the guider attached better and if the cord didn't move so easily.  I always feel like my daughter could move and the seat-belt would come off her shoulder.  Overall it is a comfortable chair for her.  The double cup holders are nice also.  I would recommend it to friends and family.  It is a good chair for the price you… read full review »

I first got the Graco Turbobooster for my son after he had outgrown his car seat. It made me feel that he was going to be safe. It's also easy to carry along snacks for the road. It has two cup holders that pull out easily, so there's room for a snack and a drink. We haven't spilled anything yet. We now have two Turboboosters and will be purchasing another for our ever growing children. My sister has bought one for her daughter as… read full review »

I like the fact that there are lots of different upholstery options for the Graco booster seat -- it seems like that might make it easier to 'encourage' kids to get in and buckle up. Personally, I don't take no for an answer -- but I have seen others that might let it slide. My daughter (5) has a very easy time getting in and buckling herself up. She also likes that the cupholders double as 'storage bins' for small… read full review »

We love this seat. I have 3 kids and 2 are still in safety seats, and these seats are easy to use, and I feel like my kids are safe in them. My kids do not give me a hard time about riding in these seats. It is easy to get my kids in and out of them. I would like it more if it had the 5 pt harness, but I still feel like they are very safe in them. I would definately recomend this booster seat to… read full review »
