I looked at many car seats before making a purchase. I found graco to have a very consistant product and is highly rated by consumer reports. I always thought that car seats were difficult to use but this design makes it very easy, once you put the base in your car that is it, the car seat easily locks in and can be removed with a pull of a lever. I love this car seat; not to mention it fits into my graco stroller, and graco swing frame. The use of the car seat and swing frame makes the whole unit very portable.
