After weeks of comparison shopping for the "perfect carseat" I decided on the Graco Safeseat. I liked that the weight limit was higher than most infant carseats, up to 30lbs and 32 in. long. I really expected for my little one to stay in this carseat til she was a year old/30 lbs. I got the Jenny pattern and the matching metrolite stroller, as well as the matching pack-n-play( what can I say- it was a super cute pattern!)
The safeseat costs more than most carseats- but given that it is designed to last longer makes it seem worth the additional $$. It was also rated an A in the Baby Bargins book, which was my bible while pregnant and preparing for the baby.
We got two bases for the the carseat, one for each of our 2 cars, making it so easy to transfer from one car to another. It was also so easy to pop it out of the car and onto the coordinating stroller. The cover is machine washable- easily removable and easy to put back on. It is heavy- almost 10lbs without the base or baby in it. I am a weakling so I didn't carry it to often- I almost always put it on the stroller.
Unfortunatly- it did not last til 30lbs/32ins. My daughter was getting a little to big for it around month 8 at 21lbs and 27ins. We went ahead and bought the Graco MyRide 65. I am a Graco fan!
