Graco SafeSeat —

When we were getting ready to purchase our first car seat for the baby, we made sure to do a lot of research on what we needed.  Once we knew what we needed, we then looked around for something that looked pretty good when it was in use as well.  We ended up purchasing one of the Graco SafeSeat car seats, with the specific model being the "Eclipse".  There were a number of different fabric choices, but we wanted to get one with neutral coloring in case we ended up having more kids later on down the road (which we did).  It was affordable, and we have already become very happy with this car seat.

We have been using this Graco car seat for about seven months now, and have had zero problems with it along the way.  This Graco car seat comes with a base that is very easy to install in the car, and saves a ton of time when you are trying to get the baby situated very quickly.  The base is extremely easy to install right out of the box, and seriously only took a few minutes to hook into my Ford Explorer.  Once the base is in place, you only have to set the car seat in it from then on out, and with two clicks it is snapped into place for the trip.  It's really just that easy, and even easier to get the baby in the seat to start out.  There are two shoulder straps that link with two leg straps and a final strap that goes between her legs.  They can all be adjusted, and when they are tightened, the baby is set to go anywhere.

There are a couple of interesting items about this car seat that we really like and I felt I should mention, including the adjustable base to make sure that it is flat on the top for the car seat to be placed in it.  This Graco car seat is also airline certified, which means that you can take it on planes and hook it straight into an airline seat for the trip.  This was extremely helpful on a recent trip that we took.  I also love that the handle on the top can adjust to different angles for carrying.  As you can see in the picture, there is also a shade that can be pulled over the baby to create shade from the sun, or just darkness for a nap.  This is a rear facing car seat for infants of 30 pounds or less, cleans up very easily, and while it can get heavy with a bigger baby, that happens with all kids.  We love this Graco car seat, and have been very happy we chose to purchase it.
