Somewhere around the time my daughter turned 18 months, my husband and I went looking for a new car seat for our other car. She had grown out of her infant car seat long ago. We had a car seat for one car, but not the other car. So I started looking everywhere for what I thought to be a safe, good buy.
In my research, I came across the Graco SafeSeat Step2 and completely fell in love. The car seat had the recline option, which was great when she was still pretty little, however, now that she's 4, her legs sort of get wedged between her car seat and the car passenger seat so it's no longer practical.
I love this car seat because it sits up a lot higher than other car seats and it has 'wings' that sort of come out on both sides of the head, which in my mind, would sort of protect her head in a side collision.
The car seat also has an easy install feature which sort of grabs and holds the seat belt. Our car does not have the anchor and tether feature so we use the seatbelt only.
She's starting to get a little too big for this car seat (she's 36 pounds and 40 inches tall) and I've been trying to talk her into giving her car seat to her little brother so that she can ride in a booster, but she loves it too much.
