Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 Car Seat Review

We purchased the Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 car seat when we needed a new seat. This seat has many great advantages to it and makes a great seat once your little one is forward facing (remember that they're best rear facing as long as possible!) First, this has to be the easiest car seate I've installed in a car, we use the lower LATCH system, tighten it with minimal force down on the seat, then attach the tether and hand tighten that. Usually that is enough to have a good, snug fit with the car seat moving less than 1 inch along the belt path. Most seats require an adult climb right on top and lots of fiddling to get them in snugly, which leads to incorrect installation. The head part is fantastic as it wraps around nicely to give side impact protection and has foam to help protect the head. It is also very easy to adjust, you can loosen and tighten the harness at the front of the seat and is much easier than most seats to tighten. This again lets you get an appropriately snug fit without lots of fiddling, which again means your little one is much more likely to be harnessed correctly. Our little one also loves that there is a cup holder and is now starting to use the storage in the arm rests as well, I know that arm rests and cup holders are a lower priority than safety, but when it comes along with a highly rated seat in terms of safety and ease of use,  you can't go wrong. The high harness limit of 65 lbs is great, most children are not ready to sit properly in a belt position booster at 40lbs. We've had to wash the cover a few times and haven't had any problems, it is a straight forward procedure to take off the covers, they can be machine washed on a gentle cycle with mild detergent and they dry quickly, we just put a fan in front of them.  The price is probably the other great part about this seat, it is much less than many of the highly rated seats, making it an option for many families.
