I have several points of contention with the Graco Lovin' Hug Swing. I think it's unfair to rate a product based on how individual babies respond to it (for the record, my baby haaaaaaates this swing), so this review is my take on the product itself.
The biggest problem is the mobile. When the swing is on any speed other than 1, the mobile turns towards the back and well out of view of the baby. The stuffed animals, while cute, are not visually stimulating, so even if baby could see them they wouldn't add much to the experience. Also, beware: if you put the mobile on the right side, it interferes with the swing's motor.
The tray is difficult to snap on, and very noisy. It makes a loud noise going on or off that can startle the baby.
The white noise feature provides white noise as promised; unfortunately, so does the music feature. Roll over Beethoven indeed!
I'm not sure why the swing has a 5 point restraint system, but it seems excessive to me. Speed 6 isn't *that* fast. I opted not to fully strap my baby in after the first time when he balked at the 5 minute buckling process, but then the straps were uncomfortable under his back!
We replaced our Graco swing with the Fisher-Price Aquarium Cradle Swing; our still-little baby vastly prefers the side-to-side feature and superior mobile. For only $20 more, the Fisher-Price makes the Graco look incredibly cheap.
