When I was registering for baby items when I was first expecting, A wwing is one of thos ethings I didn't register for. We don't have a lot of room in our livingroom and I didn't want all these things thrown all over - swings, exercausers, bouncy chairs - etc. But one of my girlfriends picks up this Graco swing for us. We set it up right away when we got home and it's really a nice looking, no frills, basic swing that swings back and forth. The first night back from teh hospital we put our son in there while he was awake and let him rock a bit. After a few minutes he went right to sleep. We tried it again a little later and sure enough, he went back down to sleep. From that moment on we called it the "magic swing" because no matter what - even if it took 10 minutes, it would lul him to sleep. as he got older we would raise the incline on the seat so he was sitting more upright. He loved it. Then he started noticingthe aniimals on the mobile that he would stare at as he was rocking. Then when he got bigger he wold look at the animals that are on the tray. They kept him occupied for hours! I really cried when he got too big for the swinng and we had to put it away. Hopefully we can use it again some day! the one thing I did NOT liek about the swing though... was the music. it was way too loud and sounded awful and staticy but it didn't bother us because we just never turned it. I highly recommend this basic, inexpensive swing to parents!
