Graco Lauren Crib-CHECK MATTRESS SIZE- DANGEROUS

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I purchased this crib from Target, the crib requires a mattress that is larger than some available for purchase. PLEASE CHECK WITH MANUFACTURER ABOUT WHICH CRIB MATTRESS TO BUY!!!!! PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO INDUSTRY STANDARD FOR MEASURING CRIB MATTRESSES, THE MANUFACTURERS ARE ON THEIR OWN TO PROVIDE SIZING INFORMATION ON THEIR LABELS. ALSO, MATTRESSES ARE NOT RETURNABLE AFTER USE. Target should provide specific information to consumers about what mattresses the manufacturer recommends be sold with each product. Graco not only does not make this crib, they do not want to hear from consumers with problems with this crib and will immediately tell you to call the manufacturer- LaJobi of California. According to the manufacturer, their customer service representative informed me mattress manufacturers can measure a mattress anywhere they chose i.e. center of mattress (the fattest part) or from edge banding to edge banding. Absolutely disgusting to me that Graco put their name on a product but will not even keep track of problems associated with it.  In my case, I purchased a (STANDARD SIZE) Kolcraft mattress that was too small for the crib. After six/seven months when my daughter became more active in her bed, her arm got caught in the corner of the crib (up to her shoulder) because there was too much room around the mattress. I have filed a report with the CPSC. To their credit LaJobi did send me a mattress at no charge. When I asked if I was the only consumer with this problem, I was told no, they are aware this problem exists and they have sent out replacement mattresses to other customers. I also had to have replacement clips sent to replace defective ones that lock in the drop rail. Overall, crib looks good, but it has caused me many sleepless nights!
