Gossip Girl Review Summary

"Veronica Mars moves on to Gossip Girl, which suits her." With the end of her own series, Kristen Bell has now become the narrator of the teen drama Gossip Girl. Reviewers consider this "funny and well-written" show "a great guilty pleasure." Some storylines to Gossip Girl are "more interesting than others, but it's definitely entertaining." Reviewers that are familiar with the book series of the same name report "the series is outlandish drama and stunning fashions." Reviewers do caution against letting teens watch Gossip Girl, as "although they give lip service to the idea that teen sex is not a good thing, they highly romanticize it."

I started watching Gossip Girl because it airs after America's Next Top Model on Wednesday nights.  As I was watching for the first time, I couldn't help but notice the narrators voice... so familiar... but who is it?  Suddenly I realized, it was Kristen Bell, also known as Veronica Mars.  Since I...

Gossip Girl is an addictive show..amd I've been glad that I haven't had a 14 year old at home when I've watched it.  Although they give lip service to the idea that teen sex is not a good thing, they highly romanticize it.  Sometimes I feel awkward even watching it because .....if those kids were really... review »

I love this show - it is funny and well written.  Does it make for good role models, no!  But then what on TV does?  I watch this to see how the other 1/2 of 1% lives and frankly it doesn't look that good to me.  Money might buy them great clothes and good schools (BTW does they ever study?) but happiness, hardly!  You know these people will go on to be "successful" career people much like their parents (who by the way are as nteresting as the kids) but unlikely to be successful in all that really matters in life.  Maybe the message here really is a good one.

This show about the upper crust in New York is full of dirt to dish and dish they do! Based on the book series of the same name, the series is outlandish drama and stunning fashions. I was hooked on the books (thanks to my daughter) and the series does not disappoint.

I started watching Gossip Girl when flipping through the channels one night and settling on the new Drama on the CW.  I have always liked most of the CW network's shows before, so I know that it was worth a try.  After the first time, I kind of got hooked.  I now try and catch it whenever I can, because it's one of those shows that you have to keep up with the storyline.  I am also an avid Gilmore Girls fan, and this is a completely different type of show.  Gilmore Girls was more of a witty drama with a lot of comic relief.  This is a passionate drama that deals with adult-like problems... review »

I never saw myself getting into a show like this, but Gossip Girl is so clever, I even DVR it in case I miss it! Every week, I look forward to what they will be doing. The characters are fantastic, and the acting is great. Although the books are a bit different, They keep to the story lines pretty well. I can't wait to see what happens next week!

This show is similar to what Josh Swartz created back in 2003.  Yes, I am indeed talking about The OC.  Season 1 of The OC was fantastic and season 2 and on was all downhill.  Looks like after destroying California, Swartz moved onto the big apple.  I have been keeping an eye on the show and I must admit it looks fantastic.  Sure it is nothing in comparison to the reality of a real individual, but it is sure entertaining to watch.  I mean come on, isn't the point of television shows to be filled with entertainment?  You also have the great music on the show like they did in The OC.  Swartz... review »

At an exclusive prep school on Manhattan's Upper East Side, students addictively follow text-messaged scoops on scandals and heartache among their peers as reported by Gossip Girl, a shadowy presence whose identity is known to no one. Gossip Girl's dispatches kick into high gear as Serena Van Der Woodsen ends her self-imposed boarding school exile and returns to Manhattan, surprising even her closest friend, Blair. As Gossip Girl continues to stir the pot and feed any potential scandals, student buzz sifts through any available clues to the hottest topic of all: Who is Gossip Girl, anyway?

Gossip Girl is a far cry from the portrayal of "everyday teen life", but that's precisely the allure of it. Gossip Girl is all about extremes from the visually stunning wardrobes and settings to the sometimes outlandish but throughly entertaining plotlines. When we experience "real life" during our every waking moments, Gossip Girl provides us with a fun, sexy, fantasyland, filled with drama that piques our interest and an undeniably stunning cast of characters who, despite their out-there circumstances, remain likable and relatable.

The Gossip Girl Series are my favorite books to read. I started them last school year and im on the fith book. I never really read while i was i break. Now im on summer vacation and i love reading everyday because its Gossip Girl!!

The book is more better than the show because it goes into more deatail. Also different people hook up and there are different accasions. Some of the people are different too.

I enjoy the book much better.

This is absolutely the best new show of the season.  I'm sad we don't get to see Kristin Bell, but she's still great as "Gossip Girl."  The show doesn't really follow the books, but I enjoy the TV plots just as much.  I'm particularly glad they decided to have Serena and Dan be a couple rather than Vanessa and Dan like in the books.  I also like that the TV characters are more sympathetic than their book counterparts.

When Gossip Girl first came on TV I was unsure that if I wanted to get myself caught up in another show but I'm am glad I did.  I really enjoy watching it every week.  I like the characters and all the drama.  I find it amusing.  I would never behave the way any of the characters do but I enjoy watching their slutty ways.  After watching the show it almost makes me want to read the books.

gossip girl is a very good show! i love it and watch it all the time i definetly recommend it to people, but sometimes i wouldnt because there are teens out there who to them gossip girl glamorizes sex and revenge. i know not all people are like that, but some people(teens)-not saying all of them-might think this is really cool and all. overall though i really like it and cant wait for season two of the show!!!!

Gossip Girl is just so amazing. You look at all the girls and their perfect hair and perfect clothes and perfect skin, and you just hate them for being so perfect. But at the same time, you just have to love them! There's so much stuff that goes on, and it just makes it a lot better to watch it going on with a whole bunch of guys involved. Definately one for teens.
