Google News Review Summary

When most people hear the word “Google”, they immediately think of the world’s most widely used search engine, but Google offers more than simply a means for conducting internet searches. One of its other useful services is Google News. This news service is loved by its many fans for its easy to search features, its customization, its organization, and its comprehensive coverage. Google News offers the “Best Compilation of News” among the different news web sites and even though Google News is nothing more than a collection of summaries taken from other news sources, it still ranks as a very good News Web Site that posts the news that matters from multiple angles.

The alarm on my biological clock has gone off. No use just lying here in bed, I'm up. — Okay, I need coffee and I need news. So I put on a pot and I go straight to Google News. Ah, now that's better. not just ONE online news site, but most all of them!

It just doesn't pay to get a daily newspaper delivered to the doorstop anymore...on a rainy day, it's a soggy mess. The day I get up early, the delivery person is late. And on Sunday, the neighbor "borrows" my NY Times from my front step!!! — No more, I've cancelled my subscription -- Google News covers it all. The headlines are right up top and clicking on "all nnn news articles..." (where nnn = the number of news publications carrying that story) gives you access to the news story as reported by newswriters from around the world. Its a little hard to call Google News an actual news site. In reality its just this huge company that copys and pastes other news stories into its own website. having said that, google does a fantastic job. you can customize your site any way you like it so you will see only whatever news you want. i think though it becomes a little boring, because even when you buy a newspaper, even though there might be some sections that you never read, if you just happen to glance at a headline you might read that article. with google, its the same stuff over and over… read full review »
