PLEASE!!!(I'm begging you) don't buy these tires.

1

These tires came with my Geo Prizm when I bought it. They were almost brand new. I started using my prizm as my daily drive and I did notice that there was some body roll in curves so I checked under to see if any thing needed to be replace but all was good. I just made mind that it was normal since it was a base model and it didn't come with sway bars. They started to vibrate after 5000 miles of driving so I went to get them rebalanced and all was great afterwards but then another 5000 miles they started to do it again and I drive mostly in paved roads. Wait thats not all, here comes the worst part, they are horrible in the rain. The first I drove on them while it rain they would not grip after coming to complete stop then starting to move again. I drove it a few more times in the rain and again same problem. I did have them inflated correctly. It wasn't until my second close call to having an accident (hydroplaned after taking a curve and ended up in a ditch but lucky no damage was done) that I stop using it when it rained. Recently one of the tires developed a small leak in the tire bead. I can't right now afford to replace them but once I have the money I will get rid of them.

Great tire in the Arizona heat.

Put 4 of these tires on my 2008 Nissan Versa. I have over 30000 miles on them they have been great tires. I live in Arizona and they have held up as well as any tire I have ever had in the past in the desert heat. I will definetly purchase them again. They still have over half of there tread life left on them after 30000 miles. They have been rotated 1 time at Walmart. They are quiet and smooth riding. I drive 15000-20000 miles a year.

Surprisingly Good

Last year, I walked out to my car and had a flat tire. Tight on money, I ended up taking my car and getting just two tires replaced. I have a 1997 Dodge Stratus and therefore there are a ton of options for a passenger car like that. I didn't know what to choose, but I eventually chose the Goodyear Viva 2. Since then, I have been nothing but happy with these tires! They ride smooth, keep their tread for a lot longer than I thought they would and are not so expensive! They also look nice. They don't look so wimpy on my car, but rather give it some "beef". Compared to my older tires on the car, there is definitely a difference. I will be replacing my back two tires with these as soon as I need new tires and I am excited to. If you are looking for some tires that will ride smooth on your passenger car, are cheap, look nice and have good treading, these are definitely the tires you should choose.

not a comfortable ride

I went tire shopping for a set of tires that would replace the old tires on my wife's car. I looked at many different brands, but I decided on the Goodyear viva 2's. Ever since we had these tires installed on my wife's car ,we have had problems. These tires are not built with quality materials. They did not reach their warranty mileage before I had to purchase a new set of tires. We had a very uncomfortable ride no matter what surface, we were on. These tires cupped and pitted from the cheap materials that was used in the design of these tires. The purchase price is not expensive , but save your money and purchase another brand. You will go through a lot of tires and money with this brand. I would not recommend these tires for snowy weather because they will leave you stranded at the side of the road. They do not grip well in rain or snow because they do not have quality threads. If you like out of control rides on the freeway, then purchase this tire. If you want a quality tire ,then purchase another brand.

Not very good

I have had these tires on my car for a little over a year, now. I am by no means a driver who is rough on his or her tires, but these are wearing out way too quickly. I slide around in the rain, when I try to stop at a traffic signal or stop sign, and I have come pretty close to actually running into the car in front of me before the vehicle would come to a complete stop! I cannot believe how many issues I've had, given that I bought four brand new tires and they should still be in good shape, at this point. I've also noticed that it seems like my alignment is slightly off, and like it becomes out of whack more quickly than it used to with my previous tires. They were fine for a while, but now I would definitely not be able to recommend them to anyone who needs a long-term solution. You would be better off saving your money and putting it toward another brand or product, in my opinion.

Suits my needs

I recently purchased the Goodyear - Viva2 Tires from my local mechanic a couple years ago now, and they've served me perfectly when I used them. My occupations requires me to commute very often, and due to my location, I often face very different conditions from time of year - they are especially harsh during winter. These Goodyear - Viva2 Tires were excellent while I drove hundreds of kilometres every week from terrible icy winter conditions to hot summer days. Personally, I've seen a small, but noticeable drop in my fuel consumption when I switched to these Goodyear tires. It wasn't a lifesaving amount of money that I saved, but hey - a penny saved is a penny earned. They were very reasonably priced too, which was definitely a major factor in my purchasing process. At a price like that, you can't go wrong. The quality was superb and driving felt great after the switch.

Decent Tire

I purchased a set of four Goodyear Viva2 Tires year and a half ago for my 2005 Nissan Quest minivan. I was on a budget and looking for a good tire that would last a few years and that I could afford. After talking to the sales people and doing some research these looked like the right tires for me. After I had the Goodyear Viva2 tires mounted and balanced I immediately noticed how much smoother of a ride i was getting and how much less road noise I was hearing. Overall I am very happy with the Goodyear Viva2 tires that I purchased, they have held up well over the last year and a half. I have not had any flats or repairs needed on them. I check the air pressure every other month and they are always at the correct amount. They stop well and have good traction on wet roads. I have not driven with them on the snow or ice so I am unsure how they handle in bad weather. But in cold and rain they are great.

Good for a car you plan to sell

I had a set of these put on my old Grand AM a couple of years back. While they weren't the best tires I ever had, they did do the job for the short time I owned the car. I will say that what a lot of the other reviewers state is true. These tires do make a lot of noise, especially at higher speeds on the highway. I noticed that there was a slight vibration with these tires as well, but nothing to major. As for the over all traction, it holds up well; but I wouldn't recommend these if you live in areas with a lot of rain, or snow. However, despite these drawbacks, it's not all bad. Goodyear makes quality tires, and these are no exception. They do have a lot of durability to them, and will hold up to most road conditions. The Viva2's are a budget tire for those who are on a budget, or just need a set of tires to get them by before upgrading to a better quality, or before selling off your old junker.

It's a tire that just barely gets you by

This is probably the tire for you if you are looking to simply get in and out of a tire job with minimal sales pitch and minimal out of pocket expense. I certainly did not light up the tire sales guy's interest in me on this tire. Unfortunately, the tire didn't really light up my excitement in driving. Or confidence. What you are buying are four rolling rubber donuts. You more than likely will have too much road noise transfer in your car to prevent you from using your phone and driving (maybe that's a plus?). On top of that, the ride quality is not that great either. I took my car over a nice fresh stretch of asphalt, thinking that the ride would improve. I would be lying if I said it stayed exactly the same. When compared to other tires on that same stretch, however, the Vivas rode more or less like they really weren't holding the road at all. I was least impressed by the overall tread strength. I had to do numerous repairs on the tire over the smallest of events. In its defense, its not billed as a long lasting tire. The Viva 2 gets its 4 rating because when you wake up with a flat tire on your working day and you are low on cash, this tire will make sure you're not late to work.

My review of Goodyear - Viva2 Tires

3

The Goodyear Viva2 has a maximum pressure rating of 44 psi, which is great! We keep them between 40 and 42 psi. I have noticed that having the tires filled with air to the correct psi, I get better gas mileage, and with gas costing so much this is great! The tread looks like it would handle pretty good, but its not the greatest on snow and ice. I have only had one real problem in the rain, I had to make an emergency stop and I just kept sliding, but to be fair there was a lot of rain on the ground. They are good tires for normal driving, just the day to day stuff. I wouldn't recommend them for a car that drives a lot for work. Or for cars that drive a lot on snow and ice. The more you drive them, the more wear on the treads. I know you have that with any tires but these seem to wear out faster. The traction isn't really good enough for the snow and ice. I slipped and slided around way to much for me to be comfortable with. These are ok for normal driving in the summer. I just don't trust them in the winter especially with my children in the car.
