I've had my GoodYear tripletred tires for exactly 3 years now. They are rated for 80,000 miles, but I would suggest that you don't plan on that really happening. I live in an area with cooler weather (Michigan), which is supposed to be better in terms of tire life. I've put about 57,000 miles on the tires, and had them rotated every 6,000 miles. As of tomorrow I will be replacing them, which is much sooner than I had anticipated, but Goodyear will prorate you back the amt difference based on the miles you don't make it to 80,000 so I am not terribly upset. In fact, let's face it marketing people coming up with the number of miles for warranties to compete with the other manufacturers, and the engineers really don't have a say. That being said I am guessing there is probably little truth to the numbers we see in the estimates for any brand or type of tire.

All that aside these tires work great. They handle EXTREMELY well in the snow and literally tear snow and ice up. I had always bought cheap tires prior to these (I was a poor college kid with all my previous tire purchases) and I just thought a tire was a tire. I was so wrong. I cannot explain how different a car handles on snow and ice simply by having a good set of tires and unless you're planning on having a snow tire put on (I know I am not), this is really a great way to go. The largest complaint I've seen from others on these tires is the "noise" while driving on the road. I think it's quite minimal and unless you have your stereo completely off, you really can't tell at all.

Regardless of the fact that these didn't make it 80,000 miles, I am getting another set. They drive great and with the prorated kickback and mfg MIR that is available through Saturday it's definitely going to be a great price for a tire that will save me from sliding in the ditch when the lake effect snow hits.
