Comments about Gold's Gym Stride Trainer 500:
I have always been the type of person who worked out in a gym setting, but I used an elliptical everyday. When the gym memberships in my area became too expensive, a family friend gifted me this elliptical.
First, if you are in a similar situation, where you have been using gym ellipticals and are switching to this one, you will notice obvious differences. Those in the gym are typically much more elaborate, durable, and of course pricey. It took me a while to get used to it, as it wobbled a little bit. It doesn't wobble enough that I feel as though I might fall over, but the base isn't overly wide. You get used to it in the first couple of uses.
Also, mine started making some squeaking noise after about 100 uses. No amount of WD40 would fix it, so we found the root of the problem and tightened a couple of loose bolts. This might be fairly typical, as the normal use will work things in a little more of a groove. We found a few areas where the bolts were just a smidgen loose but nothing close to falling out. We haven't heard the squeaking noise any more after that.
I would recommend this to anyone looking to purchase an elliptical, as it has different resistance levels, a fan, and a digital interface. I find myself reading or watching movies on my tablet while using it, which keeps me active and in shape. I believe this is a good product at a pretty good price.
