I have a 9 year old golden named "JJ" and he's such a loving and friendly dog. Unfortunately as a puppy he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia but with tender loving care and not to much rough activity he has survived this and is like I said 9 years old.
Golden's are very easy to train and they are not to distructive as puppies. I would definately own another one but would suggest to anyone looking to buy a large breed dog to make sure they are have a vet certified certificate stating they have had their hips checked. Hip dysplasia is common in large breed dogs and are prone to acquire this as they turn into adults but some are born with it just as my dog was.
