Golden Retriever Dog Breed Review

My husband bought my Lena as a quit smoking present. That was 4 1/2 years ago. I am very lucky.  My golden is a beautiful animal. She is the most loyal, loving animal. She would rather be with people than other dogs.  She follows me around the house and always lays near us. Very easy to train and teach with one exception.  Mine is not calm when people first come to my house. She jumps and goes crazy to say hello.  Strictly friendly but she is a big girl and too heavy to be jumping on people.  She listens to me and doesn't jump on me when I come home. I try to tell other people what to do when they come in but its not the same. I have to intervene. Most goldens are calmer and don't jump like that.  Mine is just so excitable. Yes she sheds but not as bad as my other dog. They are prone to ear infections. As far as training and disposition you will not be sorry.  Make sure you buy from a repetable person though. I have heard some stories about bad breeding with goldens.  I paid a high price for mine but I don't regret it at all.  She is pure bred and BEAUTIFUL.  I actually miss my dogs when I am at work, they are my buddies.
