It may not look like April in some parts of the country yet but Spring is surely knocking on the nation's door which means that soon the good walking weather will be back. Most of us have formed definite tastes in walking shoes, jogging clothes, etc. but one thing we can all agree on is that the type of SOCKS a walker wears is very important to the health of one's feet. The socks should fit comfortably but also stay in place, without sliding down into the shoes. The socks' material should possess a little stretch but also the comfort and "wicking" ability of fine cotton. For those of you who aren't totally happy with your socks, someone has come up with an answer ... Gold Toe Socks for men and women.
I have bought nothing but this brand of sock for several years now, in varying weights, but my favorite is the pima cotton lightweight anklet which Gold Toe refers to as their "number one summer sock" but which works beautifully for me most of the year. The socks are nice-looking and are a comfortable blend of 67% Pima Plus Cotton, 32% Stretch Nylon and 1% spandex. Gold Toe Socks seem to have something for every sock-wearer, regardless of size or taste. (For the serious winter boot-wearing months, I prefer a heavier Gold Toe sock.)
Because I am tall and take a relatively large shoe size, I am very glad that Gold Toe carrys "Plus Size" Women's Anklets which are available in white and several other attractive shades. I recently ordered a bunch of these for only $4 a pair from The Sock Company's website and this is a great deal in view of the fact that the socks have amazing durability, launder beautifully and will last for years.
You can find numerous websites, including the official Gold Toe website, by typing Gold Toe Socks in the search engine.
