This product absorbs quite well. It leaves my hands looking better. They are not as dry. I do not like the scent. It has some menthol but that is not the only scent. It is a little pricey for me, but there have been some good coupons out there. The menthol can sting a bit if your hands are tender. It left my hands feeling cold. It helps to take away the redness from chapped skin. Scent Menthol odor and something else. I guess because this moisturizer is medicated, it is the very best moisturizer to use on very dry, cracked skin. For normal dry skin, I can use anything, but if I've been out in the cold or I haven't moisturized in a while, this is the best product to use. Also, it is FSA eligible from places like drugstore.com, so you can use FSA money to purchase it with. It is creamy. It spreads evenly and gets absorbed into the skin quickly. I would probably use it all the time except for the smell. The smell is really quite bad--antiseptic and strong. Scent I'm sensitive to smells and this stuff smells terrible. I sometimes put a bit of a better smelling moisturizer over top of this stuff or try to use this before going outside when the smell won't bother me so much. Effectiveness I have used 4 or 5 different moisturizers in the past few months and this is the best moisturizer to use on bad, cracked skin---it works better than anything else I've tried.

I am rating this Gold Bond Extra Strength Medicated Body Lotion a nine out of ten. It seems to work pretty well for my husband. Occasionally I will use it too if my skin gets itchy. Scent I have a very sensitive nose and personally do not prefer the scent of menthol. This product does contain .5% menthol so it does smell sort of like peppermint. It does provide a cooling sensation when applied to skin. This is great when my skin gets sun burned. It also contains Aloe and Vitamin E that helps moisturize, soothe and protect skin. It is perfect for anyone with sensitive skin. Absorption This lotion absorbs fairly well. My husband uses this product on a daily basis. He has not had any complaints about it. Typically he uses this product before he goes to sleep. Effectiveness My husband suffers from very itchy skin conditions. He uses this lotion daily to get relief. It seems to help him. This lotion is designed to relieve different types of itching such as rashes, insect bites and sunburns. It also helps relieve chapped or cracked skin. I would recommend anyone who suffers from dry, itchy skin to try this lotion.

During the dry winter months, I get horrible dry skin on my hands. I use Body Shop's "Hemp Hand Protectant" and Bath & Body Works "Lavender Sleep Cream" but both of those are pricey. When our finances were so that we could no longer afford those types of luxuries, I bought an 8 oz. bottle of Gold Bond Extra Strength Medicated Body Lotion because I had a coupon & it was on sale. This lotion works great, and it's much thicker than a lot of lotions. The bottle did mention not to put it on more than twice a day, but luckily that was all that required. I put a thin layer on at night and then again in the morning. One thing I like too, is that because it's medicated, if your skin has gotten so dry that it cracks, this does heal those too. I also like that it's quick absorbing, there's no greasy feel after applying. The scent is VERY potent, a medicinal mint. I don't mind it very much, and actually like it, but the scent is not something everyone will love. Since it does absorb quickly though, the scent doesn't linger on your skin, which is a plus since it's not exactly a universally attractive scent.

This Gold Bond lotion is a must have for our house. While it is not a high-end lotion, it is a very good practical product to have available for when a family member has something act up with their skin. It is medicated, which provides that little extra for when skin problems flair up. I use it frequently in the summer after showers and sun tanning. It is also very good for when minor dry skin causes itching. It is very effective for minor skin problems. Since it is just an over the counter product, it is not as effective when more severe skin issues come up though. The fragrance on this Gold Bond product is somewhat medicinal. It has a mentholatum smell to it, but we don;t mind it. I can often catch this product on sale and keep it in our cabinet on hand at all times. It is a staple in our house and we have had good success with it. We recommend it for general use. It's good for sun dried skin, winter dried skin and general "minor" irritation.

Today after swimming I noticed that my chains were rubbing against my neck, and it was getting irritated.  Last week I had been at St. Augustine beach, and Daytona beach, and had spent time in the sun. So today while swimming I had gotten more sun to the back, and sides of my neck.  I moved my chains and I could see a small red line, where the chains had moved, and the sun had got passed the sunscreen. I remembered my Gold Bond Medicated Body Lotion.  This lotion is an off-white color, or cream, and does have a slightly medicated smell to it.  As it isn't strong I can handle it. I used a generous amount of lotion, lifted up my five cold chains, and applied the lotion to my neck.  It felt so cool going on, and I gently rubbed it into my neck.  In no time at all the itching lessened. I was so busy on my computer that I forgot all about it, and then knew that the Gold Bond had worked. I have had this product in the house for years, and always go back to it, even though I try, and love other products.  When it really comes to healing cracked skin, stopping irritation, or just needing to cool off my skin, this little gem always works. "Gold Bond Medicated Moisturizing Body Lotion contains a unique blend of emollients, lipids, aloe, and Vitamin E clinically proven to moisturize, soothe and protect for hours. Plus, unlike ordinary moisturizers, Gold Bond Lotion is medicated to provide prompt, effective relief of itchy skin." I agree with them 100%, and so does my skin. Scent It is medicated, so not the best smell. I can handle it. Absorption Goes into the skin with little rubbing. Effectiveness Takes out the heat,or itching, and puts back moisture in cracked skin.

As someone who has always had dry, itchy skin, this lotion has given me the relief I need. I am a blonde, fair skinned person who has always suffered from skin problems. Winter time is the worst season of all. The dry heat makes my condition even worse. There are lot's of lotions available for dry, itchy skin, but Gold Bond Medicated Body Lotion has given me the best relief of all. This lotion goes beyond ordinary body lotions because not only does it moisturize but relieves the itch as well.  It relieves and protects my skin even during the harshest of weather. Gold Bond has Aloe and Vitamin E, so it helps to soothe and cool my skin.  As many of you know, alot of lotions are greasy and hard to rub in. Gold Bond goes on your skin and absorbs quickly. This lotion seems to last a long time without having to reapply often. To me, there is no other lotion that offers itch relief and protection as well as Gold Bond. It lives up to it's claim. What more can you ask for?

I have always had trouble with dry, irritated skin and when I started working in a dental office my hands got 10 times worse. During the winter my hands would crack and bleed, I had tried everything. One day a patient reccommended the Gold Bond Medicated Extra Strength Lotion and it was the best investment I ever made. The lotion has a mild mediacted smell and when you first use the lotion it tingles, alot. I however fell that the tingling is almost like a massaging feel to your tired muscles, after about two or three applications your hand will be softer and the itching, dry skin has disappeared. I really cannot say enough about this product, except try this if you have had no luck with other products because it really does work.

I have used many types of hand lotions in the past, but the Gold Bond Body Lotion (Medicated Extra Strength) is just about the best I have ever tried. The skin on the back of my hands is usually chapped, cracked and broken - especially when exposed to colder weather. I have tried to use various Bath and Body Works lotions on my hands, but most of them did little to actually heal the skin and usually burned very much when I would put it on broken skin. Other lotions I have tried have been too runny or seemed watered down. The Gold Bond Body Lotion is not only soothing, but the backs of my hands improve drastically overnight when I put it on before bed. It is not too watery or thick. It is not slimey or stickey. It does not have a suspicious smell and the scent is nice, but not overpowering. Most importantly, it does not burn when put on broken, chapped or (minorly) cut skin. It heals skin better and more quickly than any other lotion I have tried in the past. For these reasons, Gold Bond Body Lotion (Medicated Extra Strength) is my favorite lotion and I highly recommend it!

I am LOVING Gold Bond Body Lotion Medicated Extra Strength!!! I do not normally have super itchy skin. But I was put on a few medications for my acne and one of them....I'm still not sure which one exactly.....is making me itch like CRAZY. especially my neck for some reason. which is weird since I am only putting the acne mecication on my face, not my neck at all. But I am itchy all over. I had to do something. I have heard that putting rubbing alcohol on your skin will stop the itch instantly. well, I found that to be true, but it really dries out your skin, making the problem worse. So I bought Gold Bond Medicated Extra Strength lotion and voila! it worked like a charm. I put it on right after I get out of the shower. And as soon as you put it on (put it on dry skin) it stops the itch. BUT! like 4 minutes after you put it on, it makes you very cold! I have to run and stand in front of my heater. it keeps you cold like that for a few minutes too! This might be a nice side effect in summer.... anyways, great product!
