   House break a goat?   Of course!   Females and altered (nuetered) males house break just like a dog!   (You can also litter box train. but sometimes they miss.)   If you get them before they are 2 months old, you can de-bud (de-horn) them, but I prefer to teach them "horn manners."   It is not nearly as painful, and leaves them with some defense.   They also use their horns to reach that "hard to get to itch!"   "Ellie," my female Pygmie, will hop up into my lap to get loved.   Jethro, my mini tries, but even being a mini, at 6 months is getting too big!   He still tries!  ...

Goats can learn to respond to their names, so that they wil  come if you call them.

They are excellent for clearing land of small, unwanted foliage.

They are excellent recyclers as they will use up food scraps that would ordinarily be thrown out--apple peels and cores, potato and carrot peels, celery ends, and melon rinds, just to name a few.  In fact. our billy goat loves the ends of onions--he thinks its a treat.

The babies are cute and lots of fun to watch.  They run, hop, and jump until they tire themselves out.  If you take a little time, you can play with them and hold them.

When I first got a goat it was from a friend of mine whose nanny had had twins,Licorice and Taffy..that was when I was 13..since then I have had several more goats,but none like my Odie, who was gotten at the tender age of 3 weeks.

  Dehorned and neutered he had to remain inside for several weeks so our other goats didn't butt him and damage his stitches so he became house broken and slept in a bed along with our dogs,he went on car rides and adored ice cream cones as treats when he did good.
