Go to Meeting.com is an on-line conference room that people can use to meet anytime, anywhere and to discuss, collaborate, train, educate or present information to customers, clients, employers, employees, coworkers or even family and friends.  This on-line meeting service allows people to meet in real time, with technology that permits attendees to view any application running on your PC.  You can schedule a meeting or meet within minutes of deciding you need to use the service. "Webinars" seminars services are available for groups of up to 1000 participants.

To use Go to Meeting.com you create an account. Next, set up Go to Meeting on your computer in a matter of minutes, and then organize your meeting. You do not need to waste your time or computer's memory by downloading additional software.

Features of Go to Meeting:

  • industry standard SSL and U.S. government standard 128 AES encryption
  • "firewall friendly."  Network administrators do not need to configure or change your current firewall settings in order to participate in a Go to Meeting conference, presentation or meeting.

Go to Meeting.com provides on-line personal and computer security with:

  • user authentication codes: presenters and attendees will use passwords to enter their meetings, which provides protection against misuse or uninvited "guests."
  • secure control over keyboard and mouse: Only the presenter has control over the keyboard and mouse.
  • Limitations on the application in use: Not only are attendees not distracted by other applications but the only available information is the program you choose to share, such as PowerPoint or the Internet.
  • Inactivity time out: ensures that after a specified period of time (30 minutes) screen sharing is automatically stopped due to inactivity. However, users may adjust this function to 15 minutes up to 60 minutes.

Why is Go to Meeting.com safer than other forms of sending information?

  • Emails can be sources of spyware or viruses.
  • Emails may contain n tracking information back to your network or personal computer.
  • Email addresses may be tracked to your home address or home telephone number.
  • By using an on-line meeting service that limits access to your computer and programs you limit the ability of others to access your computer for unscrupulous purposes keeping your personal and business information much safer from computer threats and other crimes.

Go to Meeting.com Awards

  • Featured in PC World, CNET News, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today and many other professional magazines and publications.
  • Winner of PC Magazine Editors' Choice Award 2 years in a row.

Customer support is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week with a chat feature, email or via telephone. A free trial is available for 30 days with up to 15 attendees.  One year of unlimited meetings on-line is available for $468.00 or you may use the service on a monthly plan for $49.00 a month. An annual plan for on-line seminars (Webinars) is $948.00 or a monthly service plan for $99.00 a month.

My Viewpoint:  Go to Meeting.com is an on-line resource for small and large businesses as well as independent contractors or individuals that allows you to meet safely on line with the the trouble and cost of travel. It assists you with connecting with clients, customers, employers, employees and coworkers to collaborate, train, present and share information.  You can even conduct seminars for up to 1000 participants.

I use Go to Meeting.com for a number of reasons.  It easily allows those wanting to use our freelance writing business to show us exactly what they are looking for, as well as train us to use any software or website services needed in order to complete an assignment.  One other example is to permit previews of website pages without travel or strange "glitches" The person wanting a web page can view it right there on their computer screen as it appears on yours.  It helps small businesses especially to connect with other goods, services and clients without the unwanted expense of travel. Since you are already paying for a subscription for unlimited conferences each year it is also great for sharing photos so family members can tell you which ones you wish to order, or you can use it to meet on line together to schedule travel arrangements, family reunions, schedule a vacation and more.

It is much less expensive for one year of meeting than in some cases the cost of just one travel trip. It is also is a much safer way of sharing information than many other alternatives.   With the option of only one month of service at a time, you can also save money by scheduling many meetings for one month and then pay only the monthly service charges.

Great review. Never allowed to use this sort of thing. Always had to meet in some out of the way place. Kinda like the mafia. Hackers, ya know.

Excellent review. One of the companies I write for uses this and I love it.

I see my company starting to use something like this. Might even be the same. I love the idea and the gas it saves :)

This sounds great, Lisa. If I ever sell my book (that will be the day), this would be ideal for "meeting" with would-be publishers which I kid myself are out there. Your children are so cute, I just saw their pictures on your profile page. What a dynamo you are -- however do you get it all done?
