The Global Sun Oven is a great way to save energy, which translates to saving money while reducing your carbon footprint on the planet.

It works in all weather, but in the far north [or south for our neighbors in the Southern Hemisphere] when the sun is low in winter the time required to catch enough sun makes it a little impractical, but not impossible.

Recipies suitable for slow cookers work very well in the sun oven, but you can adapt any recipe to use.  I have cooked roasts, vegetables, cakes, stews and many other dishes.  The food cooked in a sun oven is very moist and retains a lot more vitamins that foods cooked in an electric or gas oven.

Cooking outdoors in summer is great for keeping the house a little cooler, so mine gets used a lot on hot days.  It can also be used as a dehydrater.

I live in Minnesota but even this far north I am able to use my Global Sun Oven from early Spring to late Autumn.  It is also great to take camping or on day trips, no worry about gas or charcoal for cooking your food.   The only drawback is cloudy days, I have managed to cook a meal on a day with light cloud cover, but heavy clouds prevent you from being able to use it.
