I bought this cordless optical mouse when my other one broke.  It was a different brand, and the USB part broke. This mouse works.  The USB part is a little sturdier than my other one, which I like.  I don't think I will break it.  And it stays in the USB port pretty well.  It set up easily without any CDs or anything.  And the normal batteries I have in it seem to be lasting a long time. When you move the mouse, a little green light lights up on the USB part, and the red laser lights up on the bottom of the mouse. My only complaint is that it falls asleep too fast.  After about 15 seconds of no use, the mouse will fall asleep, and in order to continue using it, you have to click it.  It's not really a bad thing, but it does get frustrating.  You move the mouse only to realize that it fell asleep and then you have to click and move the mouse again.  It is just really unnessesary to have the mouse go to sleep so frequently. But it is nice that it goes to sleep.  My last mouse woulnd't turn off and I would have to take the batteries out when I was done using it, which was much worse. So overall, this mouse does it's job and because I got it for less than 10 bucks I'm willing to deal with it's problems.
