A decent magazine.

What I have found about Glamour Magazine is that it's a decently written magazine with decent beauty tips. All of the models are overly photoshopped which makes me feel worse about actually pulling off the looks they advertise. How am I supposed to know how good makeup is when the models wearing the makeup are edited beyond recognition? There's a few other articles in this magazine, but honestly they should leave it out and just focus on the beauty aspect.

This year, Glamour has gone from glamorous to lackluster

3

I am in the middle of the third year of my subscription to **Glamour** magazine.  For the first two years, I absolutely loved the magazine!  I got a two-year subscription for around $25.00, and it arrived promptly every month.  The articles were great: lots of variety, tons of handy hints, and even though a lot of the items they feature are WAY out of my price range, they were all things that I could find a cheaper version of and gave me great ideas for my personal style. However, in the past few months, I have become increasingly disappointed with the magazine.  Within three issues, they had Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift as the cover girls.  Now, I'm not knocking either girl, but if I wanted to read interviews with teenagers, I'd buy *Seventeen* magazine.  Another complaint I have is that **Glamour** used to have more variety in their articles.  Marianne Pearl was one of their reporters who did some fabulous pieces on the plight of women across the world, and it really broadened my understanding of women's issues and my own privilege.  That style and depth of article has since disappeared from the magazine. The nature of the magazine has become very repetetive.  Obviously, most of the content will be geared toward style and fashion, but there are times where it seems like they could have just cut and paste last month's issue into the new one.  The style of writing has simply become stagnant, even though the fashion is current. The only thing I do like about the magazine's direction is that they are trying to present more budget-friendly ideas for those of us who are "recessionistas."  **Glamour** seems to stay in touch with my generation's needs, so that leaves me REALLY confused on the Miley Cyrus interviews...people my age have children who watch Hannah Montana, we don't want to dress like her!  I'll be discontinuing my subscription when it expires for these reasons, and because I'm going more toward online subscriptions in an effort to save more paper and reduce emissions from printers.  Fortunately, letting go of **Glamour** will be an easy way to help the environment.

glamour magazine?

well i got my first glamour magazine when i , i think ten. lol. honestly this magazine is not the best one i've seen. the magazine gives off a certain vibe that it is suppose to be about fashion reffering to the tittle and headlines on the covers of the magazines. but the inside of the magezines are a different story.dont get me wrong this magazines has a couple of good pros. for example the magazine gives off some prety good advice for women by women. it also consists of some eye catching lay-outs.I also have to say that the magazine is smart and entertaining and has some very well writen articles. It is also very inexpencive. But on the con side i think the models dont look like young women but little girls.I also think that some of the articles are too politically profiled and they should be about fashion... I also fell that from time to time i will see a glamour magazine that i feel like i have read before because of the some times repetetive quality.

Glamour--my absolute favorite magazine!

5

I have subscribed to Glamour for many years.  I have also subscribed to many other magazines, but this is the only one that I keep renewing year after year.  It has the right balance of articles--health, fashion, sex/love, food, etc.  They also have articles on strong women, politics, etc which to be honest I usually skip because I'm not really interested in them.  But I love everything else.  I can't help but open the magazine as soon as I get it--at least to page through.  They have a good mix of expensive and affordable clothes in their fashion articles. I almost always find something in each issue that I want to buy and that I probably wouldn't have found on my own.  I love the Dos and Donts too!  I usually like their cover star--usually an actress or singer or someone else famous.  I like that they keep the interviews short because long interviews with celebrities get kind of nauseating in my opinion!!  All in all, a great magazine!  It covers everything!

Where do I begin? Although I subscribe to several magazines this one would have to be my favorite. I am in my mid 20's and this Is the magazine for me. I am very interested in the articles and the stars that are on the from of the magazines. I can relate to this magazine more than any. It is very cheap for a 1 year subscription. I would not recommend it for anyone who is under the age of 18. I am always excited to get my magazine out of the mailbox every month.

Always up on the latest trends

I really love Glamour magazine! I find it fun and refreshing when I get a new one in the mail. It is very light and they keep up with the latest trends and gossip! They have great tips and stuff throughout the magazine, and fun stories on occasion that you get caught up in reading. I have been reading this magazine for a few years, and they do really good at not repeating the same stuff in each magazine! I look to it for the latest fads that I might be joining in on, and keeps you up-to-date with the in Stars!

The magazine junkie's favorite!

First I must say I subscribe to twelve magazines. I know it's ridiculous. That being said, of the twelve Glamour is my favorite. Why is that? Well you see Glamour is a woman's fashion magazine yes, but it also dabbles in women's health and even politics. The articles in this magazine are wonderfully written. Besides that, unlike some other woman's magazines, the politics are always bipartisan, if they feature a republican woman there is a democrat on the page right after her. I like that. The fashion is useful. I love VOUGE don't get me wrong but their fashion spreads aren't something you can wear on a regular day in a regular town. Glamour's spreads show clothes you can actually wear. And they regularly feature low price alternatives to pricey designer pieces. The interviews are great as well. Some of their interviews have actually made me change my opinion on celebrities. They ask the right questions and the results are brilliant. Over all it is one magazine worth reading and the only one of the twelve that I read cover to cover.

One of the top Fashion/Beauty Magazines

I have had a subscription to Glamour for two or three years now.  I really like it.  I feel it gives me the best realistic beauty and fashion advice.  And by that I mean, everything suggested in this magazine is not outrageously expensive that only an heiress could afford.  It is a great magazine for tragic spinsters such as myself to get their monthly fashion and beauty advice and check out all the new make-up and hair products out...because who are we kidding, these magazines are full of advertisements.

Better than cosmo

3

I prefer Glamour to Cosmo. Although, I'm not sure exactly why.  I guess the magazine feels like it has more variety month to month. I like the makeup and hair tips that come in each magazine.  But I feel the magazines are too expensive for what you get.  And with the recession I feel like they are cutting the pages down.  Still, it's nice to have a fun mindless read once in a while.  Especially when you work hard all day and just want to relax.  I wouldn't recommend a subscription because then the magazine definitely gets repetitive.  I usually get it once every 3 months.  Also, DO NOT sign up for their free issue.  If you do, they will call and hassel and try to bill you for subscriptions for months on end.  I had to call 3 times before they stopped sending me notices that I was delinquent on an account for a magazine subscription I never received.
