I am a fan of air fresheners, pure and simple. With a house that has three cats wandering around all the time, I am always looking for great ways to freshen up the air, or more specifically the area where they frequent the most. I have used many different sprays, and candles, and plug-in devices, so it was a fore-gone conclusion that I would jump at the chance to use the new Glade Air Infusions. The current "flavor" in the house right now is their Clean Linen line of the aerosols. It's one of the odder looking sprays that I have used, in that the canister is wider at the top and bottom so that the user can more easily hold it. At the top of the canister the nozzle is built in a weird way as well, with a heavy slant so that when you hold it down, it is easy to spray in a specific direction. This is to make it easier to use, and to insure that you don't have too much of a hassle while using the product.

I actually think that the build of the spray is one of its highlights, because I think it does make it easier to use. One thing that does do though, is cause you to use more of the spray than might be necessary at one time, leading you to run out quicker, and have to head back to the store for a new one. A good idea by the designer of Air Infusions, but a little trick to get us to expend more of the product. Each of these spray cans holds 9 ounces of the spray, and is made of the same bottle-type (and metal) that hairsprays have come in for years. It stands at almost 8 inches in height, so it doesn't take up any more room than a normal cleaner/air freshener, and this one is kept down in the laundry room. It is of course packaged under pressure, so you want to make sure you are storing it in an area that isn't going to heat up too much during the day.

The Glade Air Infusions advertise that you can freshen the air using their "ultralast technology", which helps the smell last for up to 1 hour after being sprayed. It is said to "eliminate odors and freshen the air with a subtle blend of natural scents that invite you in." Now I don't know about all of that, but one thing is clear to me, the fragrance of the Clean Linen version does smell pretty good. In fact, when using it, it actually does smell really good. The spray does smell like clean laundry, and really brightens up the area where you use it. I really think that it is a great controller of any odors in the house... for a short time. I say this because while it worked great for about 30 minutes it wasn't the problem solver that I had hoped for. Using a mild amount of the Air Infusion (a couple of quick-burst sprays), you get a nice odor fix to the air, but it just doesn't last.

In order to make the air freshener really work, you have to use a lot of the single canister. In fact, using about half of the can seems to be about the norm to deal with a large area or room. When I did that, I can tell you that it worked perfectly, and the back room really ended up smelling pretty good. It smelled like someone had just hand-washed a lot of laundry, and the whole house smelled great as a result. It covered up all cat-related odors, and it was a much appreciated fresh smell for the house. I felt bad about using that much of the product though, and it ended up being the last time that I used it in the "big room". I think though, that the Air Infusions do work well in a confined area, and if you are using them to, for instance, freshen up a bathroom or the inside of a car, this could be the perfect tool for you. They come in a variety of other fragrances, but I think the clean linen is really the one I like the best. They cost around $2.00 per can after taxes, and I do think it is a good option if you are looking for something new to spruce up a normally "smelly" area. So go out and buy a can if you want to have your rooms/house smelling like freshly cleaned linen.
