Most HelpfulI'm a big vegetable lover, albeit mostly a salad eater. That used to suffice until I had children who weren't as big on salads as I am. After pushing canned vegetables and cut up carrots on them for years without much success, I was happy when I discovered Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming...

Most HelpfulThere was a lady at Food Lion with a display for the new Glad Simply Cooking bags. I stopped and spoke with her. I'd guess it gets pretty dull just standing around the grocery store.
She explained that these bags are really simple to use. Just put some vegetables in, zip the bag, microwave. That's it....
read full review »I received the Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming Bags this summer to try free of charge. They can be used to steam veggies, shrimp, and many other things in the microwave. While I don't consider them to be an absolute kitchen essential, I did buy myself a big box to use for certain occasions.
These bags look like mid-sized zip-locks baggies. They can hold 3-4 servings of broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, carrots, beans, potatoes, corn, and even fish or shrimp! The front of the bag has serving sizes and cooking times for fresh vs. frozen foods printed to help you figure out how long to set...
read full review »Maybe it's just me, but I use my bags more than once (sometimes more than twice). Anyway, I love them. I'm changing my eating habits to include more fruits and vegetables, and these bags help so much.
I put a seasoned chicken breast, fish or other seafood in the bottom of the bag, fill the bag with frozen mixed vegetables (California or Monteray mixes are my favorites), put them back in the freezer and my lunch is practically packed for the week. (Works for easy dinners as well.)
After microwaving I drain, add butter spray, seasoning and beverage.
The only problem is I now have fewer excuses...

These bags make anything taste wonderful and are very fast. I have made stir fry with frozen pork chops. First I steamed them with rub. Then removed the pork chops and placed veggies in the same bag, let them steam while I cut up the pork chops. Then I put veggies and pork in a fry pan, with a little soy sauce and Tablespoon of water and stir fried. No fat, and wonderful taste.
Salmon with a little Ranch dressing and lemon juice on top, then steamed are Um, um good!.
Make quick taco's with frozen hamburger, place hamburger, chopped onion, garlic with taco seasoning in bag, steam 1/2 the recommended...
read full review »Loved the idea of this product. It works well with seafood. Like the fact that I can get my kids to eat just about any foods done in these bags because I allow them to prepare the foods for themselves. I don't like the fact that not that many come in a box and they can only be used once. I like for my kids to be independent but with these bags they need to be monitered closely so they don't burn themselves on the stem. The bags are a great idea I think somethings about the bags need to be changed. If you need to steam something in a hurry they work and there is little clean up,but for everyday...

with glad microwave steaming bags, you take one out of the box, put in your veggies, seal the bag, pop it in the microwave, set the time and wait! that's it! very easy to use....so even the little ones can help cook dinner! be careful not to cook for too long because that will cause your veggies to dehydrate, and if the little ones are helping...don't let them open the bag when they're finished cooking, we don't want them to get burned by the steam! my only...
read full review »I steam everything. I have this really nice steamer as well, but it is a pain to clean up. When I heard about the new Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming Bags. I was thrilled. I was a little skeptical at first. How could these plastic bags give my food and veggies the same steamed perfection as my fancy counter steamer? I tested them with my garlic broccolli and I was amazed at the tenderness and flavor of my dish. Clean up is a breeze. Just toss in the trash or plastic to recycle. No peices to a steamer to clean. I put up my steamer and only use the Glad Simply Cooking Microwave...

I'm trying to get more veggies in our diet. I tried the bags for corn on the cob and it work pretty good. You can only get a couple of med sized ears of corn in the bag at one time. But with only the 2 of us, it works. It also is good for steamed red potatoes with seasoning.
Be careful when you take the bag out of the microwave as you can get burned by the venting steam.
Overall this is a good product.

These Glad microwave steam bags are absolutely wonderful. I can make a full dinner...chicken and veggies...in no time at all...and there's nothing to clean up. The chicken doesn't even have to be thawed first!
Save $$$ that would have been spent picking up food on those busy days....plus eat something healthy and homemade.
Recipes included in the box are great too!
