the cook in the house, a homeowner, not rich
I received the Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming Bags this summer to try free of charge. They can be used to steam veggies, shrimp, and many other things in the microwave. While I don't consider them to be an absolute kitchen essential, I did buy myself a big box to use for certain occasions. — These bags look like mid-sized zip-locks baggies. They can hold 3-4 servings of broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, carrots, beans, potatoes, corn, and even fish or shrimp! The front of the bag has serving sizes and cooking times for fresh vs. frozen foods printed to help you figure out how…

cooking for picky eaters, cooking novice, trying to eat more vegetables
I'm a big vegetable lover, albeit mostly a salad eater. That used to suffice until I had children who weren't as big on salads as I am. After pushing canned vegetables and cut up carrots on them for years without much success, I was happy when I discovered Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming Bags. Anything with the word "simple" in the title has me sold. — Unless you consider boiling water for pasta and throwing a frozen meal into the microwave, I am not a cook. I have tried to get into it but if a recipe has more than five ingredients, I…

too busy to make beds, practical, Mr. Fix-it, picking up after pets, needing outside help
These bags make anything taste wonderful and are very fast. I have made stir fry with frozen pork chops. First I steamed them with rub. Then removed the pork chops and placed veggies in the same bag, let them steam while I cut up the pork chops. Then I put veggies and pork in a fry pan, with a little soy sauce and Tablespoon of water and stir fried. No fat, and wonderful taste. Salmon with a little Ranch dressing and lemon juice on top, then steamed are Um, um good!. — Make quick taco's with frozen hamburger,…

trying to get organized, budget-conscious, thirtysomething, a woman, not rich, simple is good, happy to play with my kids, budget conscious
Loved the idea of this product. It works well with seafood. Like the fact that I can get my kids to eat just about any foods done in these bags because I allow them to prepare the foods for themselves. I don't like the fact that not that many come in a box and they can only be used once. I like for my kids to be independent but with these bags they need to be monitered closely so they don't burn themselves on the stem. The bags are a great idea I think somethings about the bags need to be changed. If you need to steam something in a hurry they work and there is little clean up,but for…

budget-conscious, frequent snacker, all for healthy snacks and foods, a busy person, health conscious, a woman, a casual cook, a healthy cook
I really like these new steaming bags. If you are looking for an easy way to cook and a way to keep flavor in your vegetables, these bags are a winner. They are very simple to use and in just a few short minutes you can have simply steamed vegetables right from your microwave. My first try I put in some carrots and cauliflower and steamed for just a few minutes. The bag puffed and steamed and when I took out the bag, the veggies looked great. Once they cooled, the veggies were still crisp and had a lot of flavor. Each bag comes with cooking directions and…

living to cook
I steam everything. I have this really nice steamer as well, but it is a pain to clean up. When I heard about the new Glad Simply Cooking Microwave Steaming Bags. I was thrilled. I was a little skeptical at first. How could these plastic bags give my food and veggies the same steamed perfection as my fancy counter steamer? I tested them with my garlic broccolli and I was amazed at the tenderness and flavor of my dish. Clean up is a breeze. Just toss in the trash or plastic to recycle. No peices to a steamer to clean. I put up my…

I love the Glad Microwave Steaming Bags. The vegetables come out perfect, the taste is better than any other way I have cooked them. They take a few minutes to cook. I have combined cabbage, potatoes and carrots and they were great. I have also made a quick omelet. I have also cooked chicken in them, just sprinkle your favorite seasoning. No clean-up required. This is a great product. I have recommended them to friends and the cashier when I have bought them. I have even stocked up on them when I found them on sale. …

budget conscious, picking up after pets, time saver, loving this product, kid cleaner upper, value conscious, practical, A practical chef
I love Glad steamer bag as they save time for me. I put the food add a little seasoning for while steaming to increase the flavor then toss the bag. Makes cleanup so easy when you already have pets & kids that need to be cleaned up after on a continual basis. Stay-at-home moms need to be time conscious also there are always more things to do than time to do them. I like that bags work great with guidelines to help decide how long to steam. They work excellent and are well worth the money as they save me…

trying to eat more vegetables, budget-conscious, a Wal-Mart shopper, not rich, a busy person
I'm trying to get more veggies in our diet. I tried the bags for corn on the cob and it work pretty good. You can only get a couple of med sized ears of corn in the bag at one time. But with only the 2 of us, it works. It also is good for steamed red potatoes with seasoning. — Be careful when you take the bag out of the microwave as you can get burned by the venting steam. — Overall this is a good product. —…

i use these when i am in a hurry but still want food to taste good. i like them also because the food does not get too dry or rubbery. i can pick from several choices not making the samething over and over. a little expensive but must give something up for the convience. they dont melt nor does the food retain a plastic taste.. i can put in microwave and set timer kids pull it out when it is done and they can feed them selves with little or no mess.…

not very handy
These Glad microwave steam bags are absolutely wonderful. I can make a full dinner...chicken and veggies...in no time at all...and there's nothing to clean up. The chicken doesn't even have to be thawed first! — Save $$$ that would have been spent picking up food on those busy days....plus eat something healthy and homemade. — Recipes included in the box are great too! —…

I received one of these from a freebie site, I love those sights because I want to try it before I spend a bunch of money on it, and when it comes to these bags I sure am glad I did, cooked terrible! I did fresh asparagus from my garden in this bag and it ruined it! They don't cook well at all, shrivels the food up and leaves it tough, definately won't buy…
