Glad Odor Shield Tall Kitchen Trash Bags Review

We have a dog and a cat who hardly ever finish the food in their bowls.  At the end of the day, I empty the left over food into a paper bag, fold it up and toss it into the garbage.  Usually by morning, I would start to smell the rotting pet food.  I went to the store and browsed the garbage bag aisle and came across Glad Odor Shield Tall Kitchen Trash Bags.  The box of 20, 13 gallon sized bags, were on sale for $5.99. After reading the manufacturer claims, I decided to give them a try and I am so GLAD I did.

My Experience

When I first opened up the box of these garbage bags, I could immediately smell the scent of Vanilla.  I was skeptical as to whether or not the scent would continue to last until the bag was full but, to my surprise, it did.  The improvement of the odor from the pet food that I was throwing away on a daily basis was quite impressive.

I usually pack my garbage to the overflowing point which my husband is constantly grumbling about.  Normally with other brands of garbage bags, my husband has to separate some of the garbage into a second bag to avoid the bag breaking.  He was about to do the same thing with these and I told him that since these were 3-ply, to test them out and push all the garbage in and close it up.  He wasn't too thrilled at the idea of taking that kind of chance and he jokingly said, "you're picking it all up if this bag breaks."  I told him it was a deal and he packed that bag as far as it could go and carried it down to the garage without even a slight tear in the bag.  He was very impressed and I was happy that I didn't have to pick up all the mess if it failed the test!  

Final Thoughts

These trashbags are a very good value.  They are durable and really do keep your kitchen smelling fresh and clean.  I recommend this Glad product and am giving it a well deserved 5 star rating.
