I have a cold, one of those awful summer colds where the kids want to go out and play and all I want to do is take a drug and sleep in bed.  My loving husband picked up Vitamin Water(Essential -- Orange Flavored with Vitamin C and Calcium, Revive-- Fruit Punch Flavored with Vit B and Potassium and XXX,with Acai, Blueberry and Pomegranate.

My VIewpoint:  I was disappointed in the Vitamin Water Essential with Vitamin C.  The taste was like drinking Tang, and I was never a fan of that orange flavored drink.  There was some sort of chemical taste as well as a texture to the water that I did not enjoy.  I had hoped that it would help to soothe my sore throat but think that it may have made it worse.  It did not have any particular aroma, and in the bottle appeared to be orange colored water.  I was not expecting instant results of course, but at least a little boost, after a good night's sleep.  It was difficult to drink it, even over the course of the evening because of the taste.

In the morning, I decided upon the Vitamin Water Revive, with Vit. B and Potassium. The flavor was refreshing, and it was difficult to hold back and drink it in individual servings.  I admit I followed up with another Advil for the headache (unfortunately I am all out of Aleve!) There was no nasty aftertaste.  It didn't taste like a child's fruit punch, was not too thick or sugary either.  Again in appearance it looked like water colored with a violet color.

I admit, I am not "revived" to my old self, but the great taste and refreshing nature of this drink did give me a pick me up.  I feel like I can survive another couple of hours until the children take a nap, when I first got up I just wanted to stay in bed.  I may even get some work done.  It tastes great, is good for me, and I will definitely be drinking the Revive flavor again.  Essential, is not so essential to me, next time I think I will go with antioxidants and see how they make me feel.

Vitamin Water XXX, is pretty sexy as a drink!  It is so delicious.  I finished it over the course of the evening. I can handle this type of X rated stuff any day of the week!  It was so delicious and refreshing, not to mention 200 mg of antioxidants rounded off my evening pretty well.  I can still taste the blend of pomegranate and blueberry, and since my store was having a sell on them for .88 a bottle, I went back and picked up three more.

The next morning, after a couple days of this formula, some Advil and Zyrtec to handle the sinus problem and I was back to my old self, even taking the girls for a morning of play at a splash pad, and I didn't even need to bring my Kleenex!

Bottom line: they are better for you than soda, with the tons of coupons I have (buy 1 get 1) they are not too expensive, they have vitamins and minerals and some of the flavors even taste great.  One the down side, you may have to do a lot of shopping to get to try all the flavors and decide which one you like best.

I take multivitamins so this product would be overkill for me. I do like the idea of the added antioxidants. Sounds like a good choice if you need extra vitamins. :)

Because of the years of mismanagement of our water shed here in Hooterville, we have to filter all of our drinking water at the faucets to avoid all the nasty stuff in the water. We now even have a filter on our shower faucet. Water with good stuff in it actually sounds really attractive.

I think the vitamin aspect of it is a gimmick to drive up the price, but I do like the XXX flavor. Just take a multivitamin, and you'll be beter off nutrition-wise.

It is determined to linger, and now of course, Bryan has it too! At least the girls are so far so good.

My younger son is now sick and he starts his senior year of high school on Wednesday. I am HOPING he will be up to it. Sheesh, missing the first day is not a good sign!

Hi, Lisa! I'm glad this vitamin water came through for you. I'm careful about how much I use of something like this as I'm trying to watch sugar in beverages but I agree that this is just the thing taken in moderation especially when you don't feel good and there is nothing else really that you want to eat or drink! Hope you are "up to snuff" again soon!

I feel for you. I, too, have a nasty, rotten cold. It is starting to settle down but, boy, it was vicious for a while. Get better soon!
